Long John Silver’s is offering Hostess Deep Fried Twinkies. Oh wait. I should’ve ended the opening sentence with a question mark. Long John Silver’s is offering Hostess Deep Fried Twinkies?
To be honest, I’m surprised the seafood chain is offering this. Deep Fried Twinkies seem more like something up Burger King’s greasy alley. Although, looking at the picture above, the treat looks like a giant fish stick.
According to Long John Silver’s, the dessert features a traditional Hostess Twinkie that’s lightly battered and deep fried. It’s currently only available in Pittsburgh and St. Louis at participating locations for 99 cents until July 23. The chain plans to rollout the sweet treat to the rest of the country later this year.
If you’ve tried it, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

I’m from STL and am tempted to try it, but I have a couple questions. I’m not sure if you’ll know, but hopefully somebody else can answer.
1. Does it use a different batter than their everyday items? I would hope so.
2. Is there a dedicated fryer for these? I don’t want fish flavored twinkles…I’ll let Oreo do that flavor.
I don’t like seafood, and no longer live near a LJS, but I did use to love their chicken tenders and the batter they used. They would give you a bunch of little fried batter pieces. Having that around a Twinkie would be a delicious way to die.
Me wants! Get them nationwide now!
I can’t help but think this would taste like everything else they fry- which is fine enough for…everything else they fry…but I can’t imagine it’d be a good taste for a sweet treat. X_x
