PRIZE DRAWING: Because I Have Bottles of Baobab

I have two unopened bottles of the limited edition Pepsi Baobab, which I reviewed last week.

There are a number of things I could do with those bottles, like sell them on eBay for $5 plus shipping; wait six months, let them become more scarce and then sell them on eBay for $7 plus shipping; or wait five years, sell them on eBay for $10 plus shipping and hope the buyer doesn’t give me negative feedback when they get sick from drinking a five year old soda. Or I could have an Impulsive Buy prize drawing and have two lucky readers each win a bottle.

Yeah, that’s what I’ll do.

To enter The Impulsive Buy’s Pepsi Baobab prize drawing, leave a comment with THIS post. You may say whatever you like, but your comment MUST include what your favorite fruit is.

The Impulsive Buy will stop accepting entries on Sunday, June 27, 2010 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time. Only one entry allowed per person and it’s open to everyone who’s 18 years old or older.

  1. I would so love to try this because I never had baobab before let alone every heard of it until your orginal post. Leave it to Pepsi to put it in a drink. Maybe it will be a pop tart flavor next? Anyway, My favorite fruit is pesticide free strawberries (aka organic).

  5. Well, I could say my favorite fruit is Paul Lynde but that just wouldn’t be very politically correct so I will say peaches. Speaking of peaches, When I was a little kid my dad was in the Navy and we lived in West Germany at the time. One summer we drove to Spain and one the way there stopped at a fruit stand and bought some fresh peaches. I ate so many of them that I got the “runs.” My poor dad had to stop and find a bathroom. Somehow he found a nice lady in her Spanish farmhouse who let me use her bathroom.

Baobab’s a pretty amazing flavor, but that could be the rarity of it here in the US and the good memories associated with the one time I had it (I led African orphans in a round of baobab seed spitting). I’d love to try baobab flavored soda. But if I had to pick just one fruit? Strawberries in the summer time.

  7. I like apples. Yup, nothing pretentious like pomegranate. Just a simple Granny Smith. I also don’t have time for yuppie fruit like Kiwis.

  17. Why the rhinocerous? I mean, everybody likes a good picture of a rhino, but what’s the connection? Does Baobab taste like rhino? Come to think of it, I would like to know what rhino tastes like. I tried to eat rattlesnake last week, but apparently you have to be in west Texas to find snake to eat. I was in east Texas. Oh, and I like bananas. Especially those little finger ones from Puerto Rico. But they have to be just on the green edge of yellow. When they go brown, it is banana bread time!

  28. Ah, to pick a favorite fruit… Well, for snacking, I love an apple or some grapes. For queso, can’t beat a tomoato. When it comes to shower gel, the pomegranate is best. 🙂

    otherwise i enjoy pretty much any citrus-y fruit.

  43. My favorite fruit is persimmon. Peeled, dried, fat juicy red, or small crunchy orange, it is the best.

  46. My favourite fruit is the Rainier cherry. Never even paid attention to varieties of cherries until I tasted one of these and now I look forward to their season (which is right about now!) every year.

    Oranges are terrible, though. Probably the most terrible thing in the world, second only to people who *enjoy* oranges. (But orange juice is A-okay.)

  125. My favorite fruit is mango. But I wrote a post about mango love a few days ago. I don’t know how kid friendly this site is, so I will leave out the stories of what I do with the gloriously yummy mango seed. and I’l complain about doing fifteen minutes of work and only ending up with three tablespoons of mango puree. I will stick to mango flavored teas, drinks, sorbets and expensive precut chunks at whole food. Oh, I also love rainier cherries. Yum.
