Pros: Applewood smoked bacon makes the McDouble better. Nice smoky bacon flavor in every bite. If you don’t mind the extra fat and sodium, I think it’s worth paying two dollars for a McDouble with a bacon upgrade. Pickles, onion, ketchup, and mustard complement the beef and bacon wonderfully. For the same price as a McDonald’s premium sandwich, you can get two of these.
Cons: It’s just bacon on top of a McDouble; nothing innovative or something that took a lot of thought to come up with. Bacon not crispy. The regular McDouble is no longer just a dollar. Thinking too much about how its price may make it taste better than it really is.

I need to try this again now that the bacon has changed. 2 bucks is tough to argue with.
Yes, try it again.
Hummm I haven’t seen this yet in Colorado. I also noticed that as of right now they have not changed the price of the McDouble for any Denver or Denver-Metro locations. (I drive a lot for work so sadly I see too many McDonalds to count) Is this only available in certain areas right now? I did read a CNN article that explained how the dollar menu was changing over to the “value” menu but it only mentioned that it was in a test area. Just curious
I guess the new menu as rolled out nationwide yet.
I had two of these last night , I really wasn’t that impressed , they each only had one half strip of bacon on them (could of been the time of night getting them I got them after 10pm or it could of been the crappy location I always seem to have trouble with but it’s the closest to my home)
Bacon is never going to be crispy on fast food sandwiches. That being said, the Bacon McDouble is pretty good but if some marketing genius ever decided to put bacon on a Double Quarter Pounder McDonald’s will get a WHOLE lot of my money.
Clearly you have never been to a Braums as they have some of the best crispy bacon. Burger Street also is pretty good about crispy bacon.
Since I live in Richmond, VA and nowhere near Oklahoma or Texas I’ll have to take your word for it. I was referring to national chains, I know regionals can do it right.
I had a buy one get one free coupon and ate both right away. Maybe the best 920 calories I ever spent at McDonald’s. I’ve always liked the McDouble when it’s assembled correctly (I always get it to go and let it steam a bit too) and I thought the bacon added the extra smoke flavor and meatiness the McDonald’s patties lack. Good review Marvo, that first picture is money.
they neeed to stop wirth the addded sodium.. this thing can be 500 calries and half the salt.. how bout a lil thiker? wimps
Maybe I got a bad batch of the bacon…I’m not picky, but the bacon I got tasted like dog treat bacon and was all fatty, very rubbery. Nothing that two sweet n sour cups didn’t fix though!
McDonald’s pickles are repulsive to me for whatever reason, and the idea of pickles, bad pickles at that, with bacon is just as disgusting. I’ll have a fatty fat night and order every new item on their dollar menu soon, just out of curiosity, but I’ll definitely request no pickles as per usual.
I’ll have to remember this the next time I end up at McDonald’s. A bacon McGangbang could be something special.
Just had one today. The bacon on it was crispy, but I don’t think it was the applewood bacon. It wasn’t as thick as it is on the bacon and cheese quarter pounder. That said the bacon goes a long way towards improving the taste of the Mcdouble. I like the new dollar menu overall, had the BBQ Ranch burger yesterday and it was really good for the price.
fuck this things costing more than a $1 bullshit.
Rest in peace, $1 McDouble. Had the Bacon McDouble today, not bad. I guess the name now means Mc “Double the price”. The items now offered for $1 are pretty lame. I tried the BBQ Ranch Burger, kinda gross.
Okay really a 100% increase in price for ONE piece of bacon cut in half! Who cares about the taste. One piece of bacon is not worth a dollar! Wow
