SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 1/27/2014

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Pepperidge Farm Limited Edition Lemon Chocolate Milano

Keepin’ it classy, Milano. No birthday cake or cookie dough flavors for you.(Spotted by Richard at Safeway.)

Smart Ones Fish and Chips

Smart Ones Chicken Strips

These Weight Watchers Smart Ones Fish & Chips have a fancy new crisping tray, but no old school malt vinegar packet. (Spotted by Amanda at Walmart.)

Campbell's Soup Pouches

I’ve always thought cans were convenient soup packaging. Well, they were convenient when they got pull tab tops. Soup cans that involve can openers are definitely not convenient. (Spotted by Troy A at Meijer.)

Lean Cuisine Greek-Style Chicken Salad Additions

With all the processed junk food I eat, I really should eat more processed salad. (Spotted by Marvo at Target.)

Bottled Kool-Aid

Oh yeah! No more accidentally inhaling Kool-Aid clouds that form after dumping Kool-Aid powder into a pitcher. (Spotted by Dubba at Walmart.)

  1. I’ll have to remember to look for that fish-n-chips meal; usually breaded fish or chicken doesn’t work well in the microwave, so hopefully the crisping tray will work well (it works great with Easy Fries)

    1. I’ve tried the Fish and Chips. It did crisp pretty well with the tray and I liked the meal better than I thought i would. I would buy again.

  2. I’ll have to check out the two Smart Ones entrees, as I’m always looking for quick and easy. It’ll probably be at least a month before they appear here, though.

I don’t get the Salad Additions, though. For that price, and since I need to supply my own greens and raw veggies anyway, I might as well go to the salad bar.

  3. I’ve had the chicken and fries meal… it was small! There’s a reason it’s got so few calories, there’s two pieces of chicken that are the size of your index finger and a dozen fries or so. The crisping tray did a so-so job, it’s more like a crisping lid you peel off the top of the box and press down on the food (doesn’t make enough contact on the fries). I wouldn’t have known the fries were ranch seasoned and they could probably shave a few more calories off the box by not bothering with attempting to season them. Would get again if they were on sale.

  4. I grabbed one of those Salad Additions today to try based on seeing it on here! Go the chipotle southwest one.

  5. I had the chicken strips and fries today. They didn’t crisp up at all. It did take care of the french fry craving I was having. I had to get a small salad to go along with it. I knew it would not be enough food.

  6. Has anyone seen the Kool Aid yet? I always hoped it would come out in the 2 liter bottles; this is the next best thing lol. Is that a 64 ounce bottle in the picture?
