Root Beer Float…That’s definitely an ice cream creation. Mint Chocolate Chip…That’s more of an ice cream flavor, but yeah, I guess you could call it an ice cream creation. Mocha Chunk…Not so much. Dulce de Leche…I-I-I don’t think so. (Spotted by Sascha at Kroger.)
If you’re out shopping and see an interesting new or limited edition product on the shelf, snap a picture of it, and send us an email (theimpulsivebuy@gmail.com) with where you found it and “Spotted” in the subject line. If you do so, you might see your picture in our next Spotted on Shelves post.
Chips Ahoy is being coy… but Mocha Chunk = Jamoca Almond Fudge, which is a BR flavor. BR registered the trademark on the Jamoca part, so it can’t be widely borrowed for recognizability. I think grocery-store ice cream brands used to do Jamoca Almond Fudge knock-offs, but the heyday of the flavor is past.
While I’ve seen dulce de leche as an ice cream flavor, yeah, not my first thought.
I’m going to have to eat the multi-flavored Oreos I have a lot faster, to make room for these.
I’m going to need more milk.
The mint and mocha sound interesting. I’ve shied away from the ‘chewy’ cookies for a while because they always seemed to have an artificial, off flavor. Has chewy chocolate chip cookie technology improved in recent years? And why aren’t the dulce de leche ones chewy?
Nope, they still have a weird and artificial flavor 🙁
I noticed that a trend is being built: root beer floats.
Target has limited edition root beer float cookies and now this?!
The root beer float ones have such a nice and creamy root beer flavor. I kinda hope they’re permanent…
The Dulce de Leche are my favorite. I used to buy the girl scouts Dulce de Leche before they discontinued them. I was really upset, but then I saw these on the shelf and nearly flew out of my shoes. I love that they’re not chewy because I hate store bought chewy cookies. I hope they stay so I can get them year round.
I just got the Girl Scout Dulce de Leche this year. That’s what put me on to the chips ahoy ones when I saw them literally today! lol
