North Central West Virginia is where Subway is testing their Honey Sesame Steak Melt. According to Jeremy, who sent in the photo, “It’s a choice between the (sliced) chicken or steak and the only the different is the ‘honey sesame sauce’ which is best described as like a peanut type of sauce, something you would get with Chinese food. Basically a new sauce is all it is, but a very good one.” (Spotted by Jeremy in Fairmont, West Virginia.)

Chicken Melt Sandwich very good , gave me card to get $5.00 gift card & cant find it on your address
Actually Adam, the state is broken up into several regions. While we aren’t a populous state, different regions encompass different demographics, jobs, etc. North Central WV has two universities, jobs are often technology or medical based and a lot of the states population is centered near this area which is just an hour south of Pittsburgh. Just to contrast, to the south is our capital Charlestol which is mostly a “chemical” city with many plants and factories. The middle of the state has coal mining of course, tourism is all over. Our eastern panhandle also has a university and houses many DC commuters that live in WV and work in DC. I could go on but I won’t. It’s a big state to travel, but it’s beautiful. We get a bad rap, mostly from people who’ve never seen it or have seen only the worst. We have shoes, internet, education, and now for a limited time, the new Honey Sesame Steak Melt at Subway.
Oh, I have nothing against North Central West Virginia, or Southwestern South Carolina for that matter. I just find the convergence of directional naming to be mildly amusing in the way a high school English teacher might.
so is only north central west virginia getting the new sub, jeremy?
I’m not sure if it’s going to be a nationwide rollout or not. I can’t find anything online about it going anywhere else. I get the promotional e-mails from Subway and it just mentioned our area, so it’s hard to say. It’s weird though, I’ve never seen such a specific rollout, maybe like a few states, or a big city, but not NCWV, it’s not that big of a population, a couple hundred thousand people at most. I hope they keep it, it’s good stuff.
I tried the Honey Sesame Chicken in Bluefield WV yesterday and it was great! Such a great flavor sauce, just like you would get at a Chinese restaurant. I hope they decide to offer it as a permanent item on the menu.

Same thing in Digby, Nova Scotia Canada. Not really very good public relations.
