I just spent many minutes on YouTube watching folks stick beer cans up the butts of raw chickens to learn about Beer Can Chicken. For those of you not familiar with Beer Can Chicken, it basically involves opening a can of beer, drinking half of it, making more holes on the top of the beer can, shoving the can into the bird, and then putting it on the grill for a while.
I don’t know if Popeyes stuck half-full beer cans up the butts of raw chickens to make their new Beer Can Chicken, or if beer is actually used in the cooking process. But I do know it’s made from all white meat chicken, partial cut into tenders, and marinated in a mix of butter, garlic, lemon zest, rosemary, and cayenne. The chicken is then hand-battered, breaded, and fried.
Popeyes Beer Can Chicken is available for a limited time and customers can get it served with regular fries, a biscuit and Popeyes new Creamy Cayenne Dipping Sauce for only $3.99.
If you’ve tried it, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

They make stands to hold the chicken vertical in the oven, too.
