Market Pantry Mini Donuts with Cinnamon & Sugar

18 mini donuts. 20 fingers and toes. Dammit! Short! (Spotted by Erin at Target.)

Mrs. T's Pierogies Savory Five Cheese Blend and Loaded Baked Potato

It’s so sad that “pierogie” is one of my favorite words to say, but I have yet to eat one. (Spotted by Garrison at Pathmark.)

Hostess Twinkies with Orange S'cream Filling

I wonder how traumatic it would’ve been for consumers if Twinkie the Kid was a zombie on this box and it was eating other Twinkies. (Spotted by Alex at Walmart.)

Skittles Wild Berry + Tropical Flavor Mash-Ups

Taste the…double rainbow? (Spotted by Joshua at Target.)

Thomas' Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Swirl Bread

Suck it, Pepperidge Farm! (Spotted by Nick at Price Chopper.)

  1. I like Mrs. T’s cheddar cheese pierogies so I hope the 5 cheese ones show up at my local. I’ve never had other pierogies so can’t compare. It’s an expensive treat for something that is basically cheese and mashed potatoes in a pasta shell. I’ve tried it boiled in water and also just stick it frozen in the convection/toaster oven with an attempt to slather it with some oil or butter so it’s crunchy. Probably a better approach would be to boil first, then try to crunchify.

    1. I boil them first to get them soft/manageable/unstuck from each other then drop ’em in a hot pan with some butter or oil to brown them.

  2. I like to heat them up in a non-stick frying pan with a smidge of olive oil – JWOOLMAN. They get hot and soft and creamy in the middle but a little crunchy/crispy on the outside.

    SO Good.

We love Mrs. T’s, but I only buy them on sale for like 4 for 5 bucks.

  3. I also bought the Hostess Halloween orange scream cupcakes at WalMart this weekend. So Twinkies were not the only product getting the special holiday treatment. Sunbelt bakery also makes a pumpkin spice and apple spice bar that is surprisingly good.

  4. Oh forgot to mention we tried the orange scream milk…..is the hostess company in cahoots with the milk company??? Same name. Try dunking your orange scream twinkie in some orange scream milk!

  5. Mrs T’s “Pierogies” are nothing like real pierogies. It’s basically the same as Johnsonville “kielbasa” compared to getting it from a polish meat market that’s been using the same recipe for 80-100 years. The only good store bought ones I’ve ever had are only available here in Upstate NY though: http://www.thepierogieguy.com/

  6. the twinkies were orange. not like a creamsicle but its orange…. 7 out of ten,.. they r evrywre with the red and choco…. who hasnt has that one before?

    1. Thank you, was just going to ask if it was just orange or that gross orange creamsicle stuff. Happy to see that its just orange.

  7. Too bad they didn’t go with pumpkin flavored cream on the Twinkies. That would have made me buy it. Orange flavor cream, eh.

    1. Seriously? I am so happy to see something that actually comes in a flavor that isn’t pumpkin spice.
