Around this time last year, Jack in the Box introduced Jack’s Blazin’ Chicken Sandwich with Ghost Pepper Ranch Sauce. It was blazin’, but not because of the Ghost Pepper Ranch Sauce. This year, it’s back and it brought along a bacon brother.
The Jack in the Box Jack’s Bacon Blazin’ Chicken Sandwich has the same Jack’s Spicy Chicken patty, grilled onions, sliced jalapeños, Swiss-style cheese, toasted bun, and Ghost Pepper Ranch Sauce as the Original version, but has hickory smoked bacon slices instead of lettuce and tomatoes.
The spicy sandwich has 691 calories, 301 calories from fat, 33 grams of fat, 8 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 80 milligrams of cholesterol, 1438 milligrams of sodium, 62 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of fiber, 7 grams of sugar, and 36 grams of protein.

I had the bacon Blazing Chicken sandwich two nights ago and it is HOT. My sandwich didn’t have quite as many jalapenos as it would appear to have in the photo. (The photo makes it look like there are so many jalapenos that many of them are hanging off the edge of the sandwich.) The sauce was very spicy but not as spicy as I would have expected from something called “Ghost Pepper Ranch.” It was a really tasty sandwich but I was sweating after I finished it. I’d give it a 7 out of 10.
I just tried both and though they sucked. Between both sandwiches, I got about six whole slices of jalapeno pepper. Are we rationing jalapenos now? The sauce had NO heat whatsoever. For something supposedly flavored with ghost peppers I should have tasted some kind of spice. I thought the chicken patty had more spice than everything else on the sandwich. I guess it tasted OK for a spicy chicken sandwich, but for a ghost pepper flavored sandwich I found it really lacking…
