Dairy Queen has been rolling out a new line of oven-baked desserts, sandwiches, and wraps called DQ Bakes. They aren’t available nationwide and there’s no mention of them on the DQ website, but reader The Groove Machine took these pictures at a DQ in Indiana.
The DQ Bakes Hot Desserts à la Mode include:
Fudge Stuffed Cookie à la Mode – a baked chocolate chip cookie with a gooey fudge center and topped with soft serve and a cocoa fudge topping.
Apple Tart à la Mode – a baked apple tart with oatmeal crumble topped with soft serve and a caramel topping. (On Second Scoop reviewed it.)
Triple Chocolate Brownie à la Mode – baked brownie served with soft serve, cocoa fudge topping, rich choco chunks and topped with whipped topping.
The DQ Bakes Snack Melts include:
Buffalo Chicken – grilled chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, buffalo and ranch sauces wrapped in a warm crisp tortilla.
Chicken Bacon BBQ – grilled chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon and bbq sauce wrapped in a warm crisp tortilla.
Chicken Quesadilla – grilled chicken, cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, tomatoes, onions, black olives wrapped in a warm crisp tortilla. (Um…that’s a quesadilla?)
The DQ Bakes Artisan-style Sandwiches include:
Chicken Bacon Ranch – sliced grilled chicken, bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ranch dressing on ciabatta bread.
Chicken Mozzarella – signature crispy chicken strips, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce on focaccia bread.
Turkey BLT – turkey, bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on ciabatta bread.

If you’ve tried any of them, let us know what you think of it in the comments.
The sandwiches sound good, I wonder if they have them near me. I’m one of those weird people who go to DQ and get hot food and skip the ice cream. Their bacon cheese grillburger is awesome, although I wish they still had 2/$2 cheeseburgers.
I’m a big fan of DQ’s hot food, and a big fan of Chicken Parmesan, but I tried the Chicken Mozzarella and didn’t even want to finish it. It wasn’t terrible, but the sauce just wasn’t doing anything for me.
Yeah, that sauce looks straight out of a can.
The dessert bakes have been on our small town DQ menu for over a month & somehow I have yet to order one. What’s wrong with me? I think it’s because I truly cant decide which one sounds the best. They all look amazing!
I tried the Triple Chocolate Brownie à la Mode in lieu of the discontinued Brownie Earthquake- it was very good! Even more so than the Brownie Earthquakes, which I really liked.
Dairy Queen has been very consistent in terms of their Items. I’ve been gong there every so often for the last 32 years and never been disappointed. Except when they discontinue a particular blizzard. Speaking of which. They Brought the Cotton Candy Flavor Back and they’re all Bringing Back Nerds later this Summer.
I loved their Brownie Earthquake. I am glad they didn’t take it away they just reinvented it. The rest of the stuff looks awesome too.
I wasn’t too impressed with the chicken mozzarella, usually a fan of chicken parmesan. Sauce could of been better for sure. Cheese and bread were okay.
It would have been much better with a breast filet instead of the strips, and a better choice of sauce. Not worth the 4.95 I paid.
Do yourself a favor and get the brownie and cookie. Only tried a bite of the apple tart which was ok but if you like chocolate, the brownie and cookie need to be in your life.
I decided to try the new hot sandwich – – the Chicken bacon ranch on a cibatta bun. It looked soooo goodl I cut it in half and bit into the first half. My mouth was immediatly ON FIRE. Hmmmm, I went back to the website to check ingredients , , no pepperjack cheese (what I suspected). Nothing listed that would bother me. So I took the sandwich apart. . . . bread, mayo, shredded lettuce, a super thin sliced tomato, and the chicken breast. No issues, right? Wrong. The chicken was COATED with black pepper. So coated, in fact, I couldn’t see the meat. Both sides. I tried to scrape off the pepper, but to no avail. Suffice it to say, I could not eat the sandwich and it went into the trash. What’s up with excessive pepper? I won’t try it again. I am very disappointed.
Chicken mozarella sandwich. Aweful. Very messy to eat on a lunch hour. The sauce was all over the box it came in which was actually not designed for the shape of the sandwich. The chicken was so small compared to the size of the bread it came on. The sauce overwhelmed the chicken. The sandwich looked nothing like the photo. I took it back and asked for a refund which they gave me, but no one cared to ask how they could make the sandwich better. Disappointed it wasn’t what I was expecting.
