Limited Edition Mini Trix Cereal

Well then, General Mills, I look forward to a Limited Edition Giant Trix Cereal sometime in the near future. (Spotted by Robbie at Target.)

  1. Why did they get rid of the fruit shapes. Can’t tell if it’s my imagination but trix doesn’t taste as good after they changed to the boring round shapes.

    1. Because Trix are for kids. As you grow up you don’t see the fun shapes anymore

    2. The original Trix in ancient times (namely when I was a kid) were round. I always thought the fruit shapes they adopted much later were an abomination and lacked the simple elegance of the original Trix. I imagine making fruit shapes for the tiny version would be a bit of a problem, machinery-wise.

My cat back in ancient times liked Trix, too. In later years, she was kind of a fruit fiend. Would kill for canteloupe. Ate peeled grapes and oranges and watermelon and fruity pudding. I remember voting one year to let the rabbit have some Trix, I always thought it was unfair to deny him.

    1. Yes thats exactly what its like im so happy im not the only one that remembers nerds cereal i love the new mini trix i hope they catch on and stay

  2. Cute. How long was the fruit-shape Trix around? I always remember the round ones.

Speaking of giant Trix, anyone remember the oversized Fruit Loops in a can – similar to a Pringle’s can? This was around 2000, 2001, when my daughter was little. There were other varieties as well, but I’m only remembering the Fruit Loops.

  3. nice job!!!! General Mills on the individual packaging of the Minion.. I use to have to pour out cereal to get the prize !!!

  4. Love Love Love the mini TRIX!!
    Please bring them back regularly!!
    They are awesome!!
Trying to remember where I bought them! 🙂

  5. I’ve actually tried it. It is indeed still as yummy as ever. Regardless of its delightfully small size, still reminds me of my childhood.

  6. These are my newest addiction! These teeny tiny little morsels of goodness are the best cereal I have ever had by far in all my life!! I hope they are going to be permanent because I will be devastated if they only keep as limited edition. Everyone should try these! I didn’t really care for the regular Trix but these have such great texture that I just adore.

  7. I understand that things change; however in this new technological age it would be REFRESHING to see something remain the same. The new MINI Trix tends to get too soft before I can even finish one bowl. Hopefully this is a test market product that FAILS and the ‘Normal’ size will be manufactured again SOON!!!!!!

    1. Aw.. You mad?

For those of us who went to buy Fruity Pebbles only to see there was the option of mother freaking MINI TRIX… and got it and were blown away, HELLZ TO THE YEAH. To you newbs who prefer bigger morsels… too bad. The mini size is taking over, and we are legion! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD

    2. I totally agree!!! It’s a race to get through the bowl before they can’t soggy! I keep seeing all these sales on them and can’t find the normal size…I was wondering if they are having a difficult time selling them. I will always love Trix though 🙂 Mini’s weren’t my fav…

  8. they changed something in the formula for mini trix . it didnt taste like normal trix and it gets mushy way too quickly

  9. Best cereal ever!! I am truly addicted to these tiny morsels of goodness! I pray they keep making them! Love the texture of this cereal! I never cared too much for regular Trix cereal so I think that is why I like these so much. I’ve been reading and everyone that loved the original round Trix, doesn’t care for these. However, I simply adore them and buy few boxes at a time. You never know, they may quit making them. Let’s pray that doesn’t happen! If you are a texture person with your food, you will love these. If you don’t, oh well, more for me;)!!!

  10. I JUST HAD A BOWL OF THE MINI TRIX CEREAL. ME AND MY WIFE REALLY LOVE THIS CEREAL… WE LOVE MINI TRIX SO MUCH THAT WE BUY IT EVERY WEEK…. PLEASE KEEP MAKING THE MINI TRIX LIMITED ADDITION CEREAL… WE REALLY LOVE THEM… I EAT THEM IN THE MORNING AND EVEN AT NIGHT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

  11. I won’t buy Trix until they grow up again. I hate these b b sized pieces of crud that get soggy instantly

  12. I have an autistic daughter that has a very short list of foods she likes. Mini Trix (mix), as she calls them, is a home run!! She LOVES them. Even if the taste were identical to the larger version, she would refuse the latter.

    PLEASE keep MINI TRIX!!!!!

Rylee eats them every day and loves, loves, LOVES THEM!!!

  13. I found the minie trix at Harris teeter store in concord, nc. I bought them and I loved them. I can’t find them anymore. The box they were in was white instead of red. I look for them in every grocery store I go into!
