Lindt Spaghetti-Eis

If you have no idea what Spaghetti-Eis is, this will not only explain it but also might convince you to buy a potato ricer. (Spotted by Fabio in Germany.)

    1. In Germany we have a proverb:
      “Das Auge isst mit”

I’m not sure if there is an english equivalent, but it means something like: “the sizzle sells the steak” or “Because the eyes eat before the mouth”

If it looks delicious you’re more common to eat it, like it and to try it. That’s why marshmallow candy has to look like little birds, bunnies or whatever ^^

But now for the chocolate: Since SPaghetti Eis is just plain vanilla ice cream on top of frozen whipped cream with strawberry sauce the chocolate seems to be a white chocolate with a hint of vanilla and a liquid strawberry jam/sauce inside that will probably dominate.
Had the same experience with a brand called PicUp and teh limited edition flavor “Wild Berry” (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/150807/6wlk4trr.jpg). Its basicly white chocolate with a wild berry jam core between two cracker. I was just tasting the “sauce” while trying it… so… i probably won’t try this chocolate ^^

    2. There is a rich history of this sort of thing, particularly with ice cream. I guess when the flavors weren’t that exciting, making it into interesting shapes was a way to entertain the people that could afford it.

      Generally speaking, though…”fun factor”.

  1. spaghetti eis is made by putting vanilla ice cream through a press to make it look like noodles, then covered by strawberry sauce to simulate the red sauce, then coconut sprinkles to simulate the parmesan cheese. It is amazing and I WAANT this bar…NOW!!!

    1. Just to clearify it: i Loved This ice cream while I was a kid and I had a lot of them. My girlfriend still loves it and is always ordering or buying it when possible. We never ever had it with coconut sprinkles. It actually always white chocolate, which I think fits way better than any weird coconut ideas 😉

    2. Thank you! I was really disturbed by the idea of strawberry covered spaghetti.

  2. Am I the only one who is more interested in the Oreo edition Milka bar its sitting on? Can we get a Milka flavored Oreo please!?

    1. hm… milka chocolate is amazing and i love milak but i’m not sold by the idea of oreo cookies with milka cream/chocolate inside… seems not to fit… maybe with a golden oreo cracker but then again you could just buy Milka ChocoPause 😀

And why the hell do you want an Oreo cookie with a little milka chocolate inside when you an have a whole oreo cookie inside a milka chocolate bar:

      😀

      1. My Lord I am gushing over this pic. That looks like the most amazing candy bar! *emails cousins in Germany to ship cases of Oreo Milka over to the US*

Milka isn’t just a chocolate cream bar, from what I tasted once it had a lovely hazelnut finish to it, which made me believe there was hazelnut paste in it? I may be wrong… But I would love that filling in an Oreo! And def not to be confused with Nutella which is too hazelnut forward and often rancid tasting IMO.

Chocolate Oreo cookies with a chocolate filling that has a small amount of hazelnut paste in it. 🙂 *swoon*

        1. Amazing Brie!
You’re right in the original “non flavoured” Alpenmilch Milka are hazelnuts processed. So yeah, there should and is a slight hint of hazelnut inside. 🙂
(Amazing, ’cause not everyone is getting that b just eating the chocolate! :))

And with that i mind i have to admit a Milka Oreo wouldn’t be that bad… xD
(Although the Noisette flavor could be more suitet to be a (“hazelnut”) creme for an oreo)

Last tip for your cousin and to prevent frustration: The pics above are showing the “Großtafel” (large bar). I’m just mentioning it ’cause there is also a complete different “small/normal bar” oreo version which has just pieces in it: http://images.sweetauthoring.com/product/36265.png
