SPOTTED ON SHELVES: Hostess Donettes Maple Glazed Mini Donuts

Hostess Donettes Maple Glazed Mini Donuts

After seeing Pumpkin Spice Cup Cakes and Pumpkin Spice Twinkies from Hostess, I’m surprised there isn’t a pumpkin spice version of these. Well, I guess there’s always next year. (Spotted by Jake at Frys.)

  1. There is a pumpkin spice one! I just saw both in Kroger today. I think the pumpkin spice one has cinnamon flavored glaze (had to take a pass on them because i really am not a fan of it).

  2. If maple is becoming the new trendy flavour, I may have to drop some serious coin on muumuus and sweatpants, and head south of the border.

    1. I bought them and tasted one! Threw the rest of them away and I hate to waste food. The one i ate left a funky after taste and it coated my mouth with a weird greasy substance. I should have known it was going to end up bad…Hostess products all tend to look good but taste horrible! I love maple too, but i suggest you get your fix elsewhere.

      1. Hey Jeannine!
First: Thanks a lot for warning me! ^^
Although i live in germany and will never have the chance to get my hands on those donettes, i would’ve probably bought them if i had the chance. ^^
(Still: Maple, Honey and Caramel > Pumpkin Spice ^^)

btw is it a Hostess only thing you are speaking of? I mean is just Hostess doing it wrong or is it the whole product range just not delicious and all the other brands (like tastykake or mrs freshley’s) can’t make their similar looking products taste good either?

And i know i’m outing myself here, but i kinda love the snowballs xD
(And yes Twinkies arent’s as good as good their rep. Not bad, but not great either…)

  3. I’ve got to disgree with the earlier comment. I had these a couple of weeks ago and loved them. They do leave that sugary feeling in your mouth after eating them, but so do all other glazed doughnuts found in the snack cake aisle. These taste & smell like mapley goodness!
