If you’re going to honor the Philly cheesesteak with a burger, I think it should be topped with thinly sliced steak, like the recently introduced Checkers Buttery Steak Burger.
But Burger King didn’t do that with their new Extra Long Philly Cheeseburger. It’s just their flame-grilled patties. Along with the beef patties, the burger comes with American cheese, fried onions, and a creamy cheesy sauce on a toasted hoagie style bun.
Since having sliced steak is not a given when making a “Philly sandwich,” I look forward to seeing Burger King come out with a steak-less Extra Long Philly Chicken Sandwich. Oh wait, BK already did that.
The burger has 520 calories, 26 grams of fat, 12 grams of saturated fat, 1.5 grams of trans fat, 80 milligrams of cholesterol, 1020 milligrams of sodium, 46 grams of carbohydrates, 8 grams of sugar, and 28 grams of protein.
