We’re finally going to get Cinnamon Frosted Flakes in 2017!
Why am I so excited? Because over the past twelve years Kellogg’s has teased consumers with cereals that have come close to it.
Let’s take a trip back to 2004, when Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunctioned during halftime at the Super Bowl, Shrek 2 was the highest grossing film, and Kellogg’s released Tony’s Cinnamon Krunchers. You’d think with Tony the Tiger on the box, a mascot that has represented sugary cereal flakes for DECADES, it would be a cinnamon Frosted Flakes. It was not. Instead it was a “crispy, crunchy, cinnamon rice cereal” similar to Chex.
Now let’s go back to 2010, when jeggings led to nerve damage, Shrek Forever After was the fifth highest grossing film, and Kellogg’s sold a cereal with cinnamon-flavored corn flakes. Oh, but it was not a cinnamon Frosted Flakes. It was Simply Cinnamon Corn Flakes.
But now we will have a new cereal that seems to combine the best parts of the two discontinued cereals. My bowl can’t wait.

When the ORIGINAL Cinnamon Krunchers was out in 2003-2004, I would buy 4-6 boxes at a time. My son and I LOVED it. We search the cereal isle weekly at varoius markets now, praying to find this special favorite delight that we BOTH LOVE. To no avail now being 2017. My son recently told me about the commercial showing Cinnamon Frosted Flakes, I went to the market and bought two boxes, to try and we prayed it was the new name for Cinnamon Krunchers. Just to be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. This new cereal does not even come close, it taste like a flake (minus the frosted sugar) LIGHTLY sprinkled wit a HINT of Cinnamon. I have NEVER enjoyed ANY cereal (or food, for that matter) as much as my son and I enjoy Cinnamon Krunchers. PLEASE KELLOGS, I BEG OF YOU, BRING BACK THE 1 AND ONLY CINNAMON KRUNCHERS, and keep it out. Nomore failed attempts at these knockoffs. I will buy the whole shelf, I promise that!!
