Today is the day Taco Bell rolls out nationwide the new Naked Chicken Chalupa that features a crispy chicken as its shell.
That shell is made with four ounces of marinated, all white meat chicken that’s antibiotic-free. Packed in the shell there’s shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and a creamy avocado ranch sauce. It has a suggested price of $2.99. It will also be featured in a $5 Box that also includes a Doritos Locos Taco, Crunchy Taco, and medium drink.
Taco Bell has been testing the Naked Chicken Chalupa since last spring, but the chain has been testing crispy chicken shells since 2015.
If you’ve tried it, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

A little misleading. The chicken doesn’t looked ‘naked’ to me. It appears to be dipped in batter then fried?
It’s naked because there’s no meat inside! 🙂
…yeah…this item just doesn’t make sense no matter how you think about it…i’m just pretending it exists only in a really effed up dream…
I got one for lunch today, minus tomatoes and avocado ranch. It was pretty good! It was $3.49 though here. With a packet of hot sauce on it, it had a nice taste. I would get it next time with some bacon, and maybe chipotle or jalapeno sauce.
This is delicious! I bought 6 with lettuce and tomato only and 6 regular for 4 people. THEY ARE AMAZING! Mixed with the diablo sauce and this is the best new menu item since the Doritos locos tacos!
I tried it tonight. minus tomatoes and I had guac on the side. It’s too small to be $3.50 but it was good. The people bitching about it that haven’t had it should get chlamydia in their ocular cavity.
I agree on the chlamydia part!
It’s delicious but it’s too small especially for the 3.49 price tag. I’d definitely get it again but I do wish it was bigger
I had one today as part of the $5 box. Unlike most of the folks here, I had it just like it is supposed to come. I thought it was amazing. It was much better than I expected. Yes, maybe a little smaller than I thought it would be but it was good. Sauce was good, chicken was perfect.
I have also tried it. I change it up a bit by adding Creamy Jalapeno instead of the Avocado Ranch. It was yummy. If price is a concern, as it is for most of us. I suggest getting $5.00 box. More bang for your buck.
