Like wine and cheese, Dunkin’ Donuts’ latest treats are meant to be paired with specific coffee beverages on their menu. The pairings are designed to “elevate guests’ overall taste and flavor experience in both the donuts and the coffee.”
The Chocolate Pretzel Donut, which pairs with the Butter Pecan Coffee, is a glazed chocolate cake donut topped with caramel icing drizzle and crushed pretzels. According to Dunkin’, “the salty pretzel topping and sweet notes of chocolate and caramel provide the ideal balance to the sweet, creamy, toasted nut flavor of the Butter Pecan Coffee.”
The pretzel-topped donut has 400 calories, 23 grams of fat, 12 grams of saturated fat, 0 milligrams of cholesterol, 530 milligrams of sodium, 44 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 19 grams of sugar, and 4 grams of protein.
The new Peanut Butter Delight Croissant Donut is a glazed croissant donut filled with peanut butter buttercreme and topped with a chocolate icing drizzle. It’s meant to be paired with Dunkin’s Cold Brew Coffee because the donut’s peanut butter and chocolate help enhance the subtle chocolate notes in the coffee.
It has 410 calories, 21 grams of fat, 12 grams of saturated fat, 25 milligrams of cholesterol, 360 milligrams of sodium, 49 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 25 grams of sugar, and 6 grams of protein.
