Popeyes’ latest limited time offering is the Cheddar Biscuit Butterfly Shrimp. It features marinated butterfly shrimp in a cheddar biscuit breading that’s fried to a golden brown.
A $5.99 combo meal includes eight Cheddar Biscuit Butterfly Shrimp, one regular side, a biscuit, and the chain’s new Ghost Pepper Jelly for dipping.
If you’ve tried it, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

I feel like Popeye’s is just taking whatever bread-like foods they have in the back, crumbling them up into breadcrumbs and then releasing it as their “new item”
Shots fired in the Popeyes – Red Lobster rivalry?
Popeyes to Red Lobster: I see your shrimp with a side of Cheddar Bay Biscuits and raise you…
Ketchup isn’t spicier than the Ghost Pepper Jelly. It tastes good, but it’s not spicy AT ALL.
Was good, but not good enough to buy again.
Popeyes Jersey City actually gave me 3 tiny shrimp and 2 chicken tenders a regular biscuit and my sude was the only correct item. I don’t know what they are doing besides false advertising.
There are two different combos: one is a combo with just the shrimp, the other has chicken and shrimp. It’s not false advertising, just a mix-up at your store.
These are the idiots that think they should make 15 dollars an hour
? shrimp…cook too long… breading not that special….
Atlanta, GA – Camp Creek
No cheddar biscuit; only cheddar regular shrimp (not butterflied). False advertising?
Tried it today. The shrimp had a thick batter, but it was fried to perfection…crunchy outside, tender shrimp inside. While I didn’t taste cheddar, the batter did have a pleasant herb flavor which complemented the shrimp – the ghost pepper jelly rounded it out. Speaking of which, the ghost pepper jelly, despite it’s name, was not spicy at all, but very tasty, especially when used on Popeye’s killer biscuit. I’d definitely order this again.
As usual Popeyes always leaves your box missing something tried the cheddar biscuit with butterfly shrimp today. Must have to pay extra for the ghost peeper dipping jelly. I would have liked to try it next time I’ll offer to pay extra to get the advertised condiment.
False advertising! You don’t get a cheddar biscuit just a regular one.
It’s cheddar biscuit butterfly shrimp, that means that the shrimp is battered in the cheddar biscuit not that you’re getting a cheddar biscuit with the combo.
