Do not confuse Krispy Kreme’s new Chocolate Glaze Doughnut with its Chocolate Iced Glazed Doughnut. While the latter is an Original Glazed Doughnut dipped in chocolate, the former is an Original Glazed Doughnut smothered in chocolate.
The new chocolate choked doughnut is being offered to celebrate the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, August 21. It’ll be available on Saturday and Sunday (August 19-20) during PM Hot Light hours, and Monday during AM and PM Hot Light hours. Hot Light times are when locations are making the doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme’s Chocolate Glaze Doughnuts are available at participating locations. To learn more and to find out which stores are offering the doughnut, visit www.krispykreme.com/Eclipse.

The best of all in the donut world!
They actually didn’t taste like anything special, I wonder if the location I went to messed up the icing since it tasted like watered down chocolate not like the chocolate that is used on their other donuts.
It wasn’t supposed to be like the chocolate icing used on their other doughnuts. This was a chocolate glaze that was made especially for the eclipse doughnut.
They tasted excellent. You can taste the chocolate with a June of glaze sweetness. They were just a bit messy since they were coming off the rack and were pretty hot still. None the less, great stuff!
Hint** of sweetness
I drove a hour to my closest Krispy Kreme because they were listed as making these. Got there, they weren’t making them. Only making them on August 21st. I’ll make sure to call next time instead of trusting their website.
