Bantam continues its quest to stuff every doughy concoction! The ratio of pancake to sausage in those bites! is totally overdramatized in the picture; it’s more like 1:30.
The Jimmy Dean Pancakes & Sausage bites has been offered for a while. It just in a new size & count.
Those Frontera frozen meals have been around for months, maybe a year or two, in the St. Louis area. Didn’t realize they were new. I’ve enjoyed the couple I’ve eaten.
Only three varieties of Bantam Stuffed Pancakes were available at our local Kroger store, Blueberry Lemon filled, Chocolate Chip, and my selected flavor of Maple Cream. The full price of $4.99 is exorbitant but they were on sale for $3.49. Considering overall value (about 8 modestly sized pancake balls per 10 ounce package) it was nevertheless worth trying. On the plus side, the stuffed pancakes are made with quality ingredients and are absent of indigestion producing soybean oil, so prevalent in the vast number of baked good today. The pancake portion is moist and tasty. On the negative side, if there was any maple flavor in the maple cream filling it was completely undetectable by human taste buds.
I would be willing to try a couple of other flavors that look appealing to me, such as the Apple Cinnamon and the Strawberry Shortcake if they ever show up on my store shelf.
