I wonder if these will be similar to my favorite Lay’s chips of old, the O’Grady line of chips.
I haven’t heard of O’Gradys for long time. They were very good chip. Shame they drop them. To what heard that they made them with more potatoes per bags than usual. So the cost to more at the bottom line since had to sale at lower price just to use against the competitors in some market area.
I never heard that was the issue, but it makes sense. I’m definitely going to try these and hopefully they at least come close. O’Grady’s had Au Graten as a flavor and I’m surprised no one else has ever put that in a chip flavor since.
Lay’s Wavy Au Gratin Flavored Potato Chips might come close….not sure if they still make them though.
Bring back Ruffles Ultimate Tangy Honey Mustard!!
I also loved the O’Grady’s au gratin potato chip because it was the thickest ridged chip at the time. These are close to those. I tried the zesty cheddar and couldn’t stop eating. The ridges are twice as big as normal and there is a good amount of seasoning (no chip will ever have enough cheddar though and I typically buy powdered cheese and add to it). These are extremely crunchy chips compared to the regular ruffles and definitely can hold up to thick dips.
