I wonder how the apple cider donut compares to real New England apple cider donuts…. Probably not well. (I miss the days when Dunkin’ Donuts actually made donuts in house.)
That is actually what I came here to say. Apple cider donuts are SO easy to screw up. And soon there will be so many places around here (i’m in Rhode Island) that will make their own
Some dunkin donuts still do and you can order custom donuts. They taste unbelievably better, there way more generous with the frosting and there filled better
After finding a location that does them fresh daily normal dunkin donuts taste stale to me.
I’ve lived in Boston for 2 years now and have never seen an apple cider doughnut. Glad to see I’ll be getting the New England experience from DD.
You need to make a trip to the other side of Quabbin Reservoir! I recently had some from Atkins Farms (Amherst) and they were great.
Take a trip to Honeypot Hill in Stow. Best apple cider and donuts!
Was able to buy pumpkin, apple cider and maple glazed donuts with my iced pumpkin coffee yesterday at DD. The pumpkin donut was pretty good with lots of spice. The apple cider donut was dry and completely flavorless except for the sugary coating on the outside. The maple glazed was my family’s favorite. It was moist, airy and had a really authentic maple taste. If you could just pick one to enjoy with your pumpkin beverage, go with the maple glazed. Yum!
