Update: We tried it! Click here to read our review.
Have some breath mints handy if you’re going to try Sonic’s new Garlic Butter Bacon Burger.
The menu item gets its name because of the creamy garlic butter that’s seared into its beef patty. The burger also comes with bacon, American cheese, mayo, and grilled onions on a toasted bakery bun. It’s available with either a Jr.-sized or 1/4 lb. beef patty.
The meatier version has a suggested price of $4.79 and you can get a Jr. Garlic Butter Bacon Burger with a side of medium tots for $2.99.
Both burgers are available now through Sunday, November 3 at participating locations.

OMG this is Heaven in a burger!
Husband tried this yesterday. He is the type to eat pretty much anything, iron stomach and all. He took a bite and physically put the burger down, and contemplate if he wanted to finish it. He said it was the most disappointing burger he’s ever had, finishing it only because we waited in a 2 hour line to get it (yes, yes, yes, crazy to wait that long for anything at sonic but it’s new to AK and we love our novelties). He expected the garlic butter to be cooked in the burger, like the commercial shows. Instead there was a large cool glob stuck to the top bun as if it were mayo. This is a never again burger for him, which means I wouldn’t think about touching it with a 10 foot pole myself.
I’ve had two so far (Burleson, TX), and I’ll definitely go back. I just wish Whataburger had thought of this first!
