Update: We tried it! Click here to read our review.
Back in 2006, Kellogg’s frozen waffle and cereal divisions came together to create Eggo Waffles Maple Syrup Cereal.
To be honest, I don’t know if there’s a frozen waffle division within Kellogg’s, but I like to imagine if there is one, they’re housed in an open office with square yellow desks that are arranged to make a giant Eggo waffle.
Anyhoo, Eggo Cereal was eventually discontinued in 2012 and it would take something that also debuted in 2006 to bring it back — Twitter. As we all know, the service allows us to communicate with our favorite celebrities and brands, and visa versa. So for National Waffle Day, the Eggo Twitter released this tweet: “If this gets 10,000 retweets we’ll bring back Eggo cereal. #NationalWaffleDay”
Well, it got 10,000 of them and then some. So here we are with Kellogg’s Eggo Maple Flavored Homestyle Waffle Cereal — the 2019 version.
Oh, but that’s not all. Kellogg’s will also debut a blueberry version of the cereal.
Both varieties will be available at retailers nationwide in December 2019 for a suggested retail price of $3.49 for an 8.8-ounce box.

…so, they’re making Honeycomb?
No, this is waffle crisp.
I have sampled both the Blueberry and Maple Eggo waffle cereal from the upcoming release. Blueberry Eggos are great they reminded me very much like a blueberry Honey Comb. When you see the Blueberry in the store buy several boxes. The Maple Eggos I did not care for as much and while having a similar shape to Honey Combs the heavy maple flavor makes them taste distinctly different.
Under a new old name
Despite it being about a decade ago, I can still remember the maple taste of the Eggo cereal very well.
dear impulsive buy, please try waffle crisp and this and compare for us
I can hardly wait!
