I don’t eat ice cream by mixing the whole thing up, then consuming or drilling a “core” along one side to be able to sample the stratum of gelato and associated bits.
I carefully shave off of the top. Give me pre-mixed.
I concur on preferring the idea of wanting to simply open the carton and carve out spoonfuls of the whole flavor/variety, but I do have to admit that a core or layered add-ins provides a more assured way to know that you won’t get a disappointing pint that skimps on cookie dough morsels or other tasty lil bits.
So, the way it worked out was, the flavors that I expected that I would really like ended up being just so-so. Like the Sea Salt Caramel flavor, one of my favorites, but the taste was weak and unassuming. Surprisingly, the Mint Chocolate Cookie flavor is fantastic, with a real blast of tantalizing mint flavor. Who’d a thunk?
