thinking about the texture of cold gummy oatmeal mixed with yogurt and fruit chunks makes my hair stand on end. gross.
agreed, blech. I don’t understand this trend.
I just tried both Oatmeal yogurt flavors last night. They were decent. Not sure I’d go out of my way to buy them again though. I mean is it that far-fetched? They have overnight oats that are gaining popularity now.
I don’t think the oatmeal did anything for the yogurt and fruit, but it didn’t detract from anything either. I can see this product not lasting too long in general.
Nope, not far fetched! I know that overnight oats have been popular for a while now so it only makes sense that they have found their way onto grocery store shelves.
For me, it’s just personal preference over that mushy texture and just a plain dislike for oatmeal. The mouthfeel, the way it sits heavy in my stomach. Now yoghurt and granola? I totally jive on that.
If this allows people ( who somehow don’t have a few minutes to make their OWN overnight oats) some convenience for a healthier breakfast option? To each their own. I just hope they’re recycling all these glass jars!
Agree whole-heartedly with Holly May, and I’ve been topping my warm overnight oatmeal (made in a Thermos-like container: add steel-cut oatmeal–avoids mushiness with its kernel-like mouthfeel–and boiling water to a Thermos-like container before going to bed, and it’s waiting for you trouble-free in the morning) with multiple dollops of yogurt for years. If anything, Yoplait is way late with this–fast food places have been offering oatmeal for many years, now.
My concern is the cost: Oui yogurt already is way-overpriced for what it is (a small amount of regular yogurt, not even Greek), and now you get even less of it in the small jar, inexpensive oatmeal filling space.
And Holly May: the jars are great for holding paper clips, lol (but agreed as to the potential waste issue). 🙂 They also could be good for growing seedlings with the kids, if you’re brave enough to drill some holes in the bottom.
I just discovered that there is a whole industry out there selling plastic or wood lids for the Oui jars, including from Oui itself–at a buck a pop and up, each. I always thought that for its price and for environmental reasons, Oui should have included a lid.
Yeah, I’ll stick with the Oui Key Lime Yogurt. I really like it.
Is it just me, or does that pic of the cut-open M&M’s Peanut Mix pieces look like the two on the left have their mouths open? The one on the far left looks like it’s talking, while the one in the middle looks like it’s singing or going for a kiss.
Or, maybe I’m just a weirdo. lol
Hahahaha! Tamme, you’re awesome; and you make ME feel less alone in the land of weirdos. Hehe. (I may or may not be imagining just what kind of conversations peanut M&Ms have now…I think this situation might be a love triangle…)
I thought the same thing ?
hehe I’m glad I’m not alone in my anthropomorphic interpretation of this pic, ladies. ((grin))
When I saw the pic, I originally thought that the nuts were going to start singing to me. 🙂 This has great marketing potential, lol.
Being in the marketing (research) industry, myself, I would have to agree!
