Update: We tried it! Click here to read our review.
This has milk chocolate ice cream with chocolate sheet cake pieces, chopped pecans, and a chocolate icing swirl. Also, what is up with the new Blue Bell flavors being chocolate-heavy recently? (Spotted by Robbie at Walmart.)
Firstly: Oof…way too much chocolate, IMHO.
Secondly: Isn’t a sheet cake just a shorter/flatter cake? Therefore, how can this taste any different than just…well, regular cake? Granted, I’m well aware that adding more descriptive words to product names, particularly in the food industry, tends to make items sound more different than they are, more fancy than they are, etc…and, thusly, sell better. Still, I couldn’t help but comment on this.
That’s what I’ve always wondered about “cupcake” flavored products, too. What makes it cupcake flavored and not just cake?
I think it is the addition of the paper baking cup flavoring.
Hahaha, nice. 🙂
So, yes; a “sheet cake” is just a cake baked in a pan or tray that is one layer.
And not to intentionally play devil’s advocate, there are many other chocolate ice creams/treats out there with just as much chocolatey ingredients.
Tamme: “Firstly: Oof…way too much chocolate, IMHO.” I’m confused, is that some foreign language, Esperanto perhaps? “Way too much chocolate.” I don’t understand what that means.
😉
@Mike S: bahahaha 😉
Although I am not a fan of cake, the texture of cake in an ice cream is pretty great. Regarding the chocolate; for many of us you can simply never have too much.
Next craze: “cakesicles” I called it first…
what happens when you make an ice cream cake with cake flavoured ice cream?
Magic.
i thought so. might have to test it out someday.
FOUND THIS @ KROGER TOO 🙂
AND IT’S DELICIOUS!!!!!
