Is this a sublminal snack message to encourage me to drink Pepsi? Because all I see when I look at the pieces on the bags is the Pepsi logo. Note: Lay’s is a subsidiary of PepsiCo. (Spotted by Brian C at Walmart.)

Funny that you saw the Pepsi logo, Marvo. I instantly thought yin-yang.
Very perceptive about the Pepsi logo in the design of the chip. I bought a bag of the three-cheese flavor at a Walmart in Grove City, Ohio. It was good and the middle piece does magnify the crunch. It was a tasty treat with an unusual and extra crispy texture.
Is the texture like Funyuns?
More like Bugles imo
These look crazy but good, I’m going to keep an eye out. Not much new in chip shapes.
Sort of the same texture. It is crunchier because of the middle piece and the size is smaller.
Good to know, thank you! I’ll take a trip down the chip aisle on my next grocery trip!
Honestly when I saw the shape I was hoping the flavors would be some kind of soup. Oh well :(.
Based on the picture, they do kinda look like miniature bread bowls.
Meanwhile, in the bowels of Frito-Lay Headquarters…
Marketing Genius #1: Damn! He’s onto us! How do we dispel the rumor that we’re subliminally trying to increase our soda sales?
Marketing Genius #2: How about we tell people the center part is a finger grip so that you can pop them in your mouth easier?
Marketing Genius #3: Not bad. I’m thinking “Legal Double Dipping”. Run a commercial showing our wonderful salsas and dips laid out on a table and have people filling each side of the chip and creating their very own “snacktacular” taste experience and claiming that their version is the best. Extra chip sales, extra dip sales and secret extra soda sales! It’s a WIN, WIN, WIN!
M.G. #1 & 2: That’s brilliant!! Let’s run with that!!
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who creates little stories like this in my head. Hehe.
Both good and reminds me of bugles and even munchos (texture and taste)
