The Krusteaz chocolate pie bar kit sounds pretty nice–I’ve had the company’s lemon bars and sweet potato pie before, and they make interesting changes from the norms (although I’ve noticed that Krusteaz tends to go to the ultra-sweet end of taste).
I came on to say the same thing. They make decent mixes with some interesting flavors.
Genius thinks alike. 🙂 One thing I’ve done in the past is, add chopped walnuts to the mix, e.g. with the lemon bars. Not only do I like the addition of the walnut flavor as well as the extra crunch/chewiness that that brings, but it also cuts the sweetness down. (But then, I’m also the type who adds walnuts to brownies–I can see adding walnuts to the chocolate bar mix here likewise.)
The Prime hydration drink tastes like cough syrup.
While I snapped the pic, I bought them too! I had a gathering yesterday and they were such a huge hit! If you love the aroma of dark chocolate pudding you’ll get that while preparing these…sooo good!
Thanks for the testimonial! One of my local supermarkets carries Krusteaz (what a company name, lol) products, and even puts them on sale periodically. I’ll have to check and see if they carry this mix–I have the feeling that I would like it (including because I’m a big chocolate pudding fan). I purchased strawberries today, and they probably would be great sitting on top of a chocolate pie bar.
Lol. I’ve always been a bit perplexed by the name too.
“Krusteaz (what a company name, lol)”
The company was originally founded in the late 20s or early 30s I think. Their original product was a baking mix, primarily used for pie crusts. At the time, there was a competing company (Bisquick) which sold a similar product obviously.
In an attempt to differentiate from Bisquick but still have something equally as clever, the original company name was “Crust Ease”. Which later became Krusteaz.
Thanks. It all makes sense, but still–egads, what a name! 🙂
Ha, I love the name churroccino!
That Churrocino is great! Unfortunately my free year of 7-11 beverages has expired now, but I do still stop by very often! My local 7-11 also has a new White Chocolate Caramel, which is even better in my opinion!
My local UDF has white chocolate caramel right now (they cycle flavours in and out regularly) which is obviously amazing because it combines two of my favourite flavours and we can all admit that there is no shame in indulging on a gas station/convenience store cappuccino; just hits the spot sometimes!
Hills Bros. sells a white chocolate caramel cappuccino mix in the grocery stores.
Beyond meat jerky….why???
Why not?
Agreed. I think that’s a great idea; they all sound tasty, to me. Not to mention, the meat-alternative thing is a big market, nowadays.
