Update: We tried it! Click here to read our review.
Make your holiday dinner a little more, um, adventurous? Weird? Regrettable? Well, make it whatever your taste buds think with SPAM’s Limited Edition Figgy Pudding.
What’s figgy pudding? I dunno, but according to the press release from Hormel Foods, 69% of consumers surveyed know what Figgy Pudding is or have heard of it, but only 17% have had the classic holiday dish before. While I’m part of the minority that has never heard of it, I do think Figgy Pudding is 100% an awesome name for a band.
The press release goes on to say that the canned meat features the flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice and cloves, along with popular winter flavor profiles like fig and orange. Yum?
Still don’t know what figgy pudding is? Well, Hormel has processed and canned a video to help explain.
If SPAM Figgy Pudding sounds like something you’d like to experience at your holiday party, visit SPAM.com, Amazon.com (UPDATE: As of this posting, it appears to be sold out on Amazon), or Walmart.com to order now, while supplies last. Each purchase includes a two-pack of 12oz cans at a suggested retail price of $10.
i bought a pack. i’m scared
Hahaha. Wow, I’m in awe of your bravery. Best of luck!
At this very moment, I am hard-pressed to think of something that sounds any more wretched and gag-inducing.
It’s official. This is what they give people to eat in Hell.
Walmart has it but it’s $14
How have you never heard of figgy pudding? It’s in the regular version of the song We wish you a Merry Christmas!
When I clicked on the Amazon link, they had it in stock for 9.99. Says I’ll get it on friday.
Well shoot I wish I had known that sooner! Lol oh well just $4 difference 😀
I had a Amazon gift card and almost bought it. Decided not to after a Google search showed a review saying that it tasted like “hot dog fruitcake” ?. Maybe I’ll get it if they bring it back next year (and after reading more reviews!). Already seeing it on EBay for a song. ??
“Hot dog fruitcake” seems like it would be a very apt description!
