I’m not going to take credit for making this happen. (Spotted by Sage G at Publix.)
If you’re out shopping and see new products, snap a picture of them, and send them in via an email ([email protected]) with where you found them and “Spotted” in the subject line. Also, if you want to send in photos and are wondering if we’ve already covered something or if they’re new, don’t worry about it. Let us worry about it.
Which section of the grocery store do I find this in?
It was on a stand alone display at the end of the international aisle in my store
Mother of God. No.
No idea how this could possibly warrant a “mother of god” response from somebody. It’s essentially just a corn tortilla chip dusted with cinnamon-sugar. Not a very novel or bizarre concept.
People are going to put carne asada, onions, lettuce, cilantro and guacamole or salsa in these and make a monstrosity of sweet & savory, whence the two shall never meet.
Fried ice cream, yes. But, this invention will tempt the unthinkable.
Sure, but people “tempt the unthinkable” with literally every single food product sold in stores. You could say the exact same thing about the cheese-flavored taco shells that this company also sells: “mother of god, people might fill these cheesy savory shells with ice cream and chocolate – a monstrosity of savory and sweet”.
But what these are actually intended to be used for – dessert tacos – is fairly banal and makes total sense. And similar products already exist (cinnamon-sugar pita chips, tortilla chips etc) so your hypothetical “food monstrosities” have probably already been done thousands of times by now.
