Alright, we may need a head-to-head taste test pitching H.E.B.’s Pizza Snacks vs. Totino’s Pizza Rolls.
Can someone in Texas set that up?
I just bought a big bag of totinos triple meat snacks; they were AWFUL?? Don’t have HEB in my area but truly hope those are better.
Cannot help but agree, but I’d extend it to ALL flavors of Totino’s Pizza Rolls. They’re just… bad products in their current iterations.
They may have been decent in the past, but now:
1. the texture of the dough or shell is always gummy, no matter which preparation method is utilized
2. the sauce just doesn’t taste very good at all objectively
3. the cheese they’re currently using is Imitation Mozzarella, whose first two ingredients are water and oil
The allure of the deeply discounted sales will catch me once every few years it seems, most recently near the beginning of 2023.
Not sure if any of you follow Pasta Grammar on YT, but Ava (an actual Italian who detests a lot of American “Italian” food but who married an American, Harper, and ) did a pretty simple revision of pizza rolls with decent ingredients. They quite good, but her recipe includes using her own dough from scratch. I’ve tried both her recipe and using standard pizza dough – either from batches I make at home or store bought dough. Both are good. Ava’s dough is a bit flakier when deep or air fried but both are worlds better than Totino’s currently are.
