REVIEW: Limited Edition 2024 Mtn Dew VooDEW

Personally, I love that Mtn Dew has continued the tradition of offering a mystery flavor here in 2024.

I hope the brand never stops pumping out these flavors.

No other brand has had the creativity to keep this up for this long, with Oreo and Peeps doing it for a couple of years and then giving it up.

Keeping in line with previous VooDEW varieties, this one is also flavored like a particular candy.

So, much like all other Mtn Dew mystery flavors, the soda’s label design, ingredients list, and milky color don’t hint at what this is supposed to taste like.

Though, the label does tell us that this is the sixth VooDEW iteration with an eye inside a red number six.

Also, for those who wish every soda flavor had a zero sugar version, VooDEW 2024 has a zero sugar version, but I’m only going to cover the full sugary version in this review.

Right now, I have to say that this might be my favorite VooDEW so far, although every year has been good to great tasting.

Before I tell you what I think the mystery flavor is, I should say that it’s fruity, a tad sour, and maybe creamy, which pretty much narrows down what it could be.

Um, sorry, Snickers, Twix, M&M’s, Reese’s, Hershey’s, etc, you’ll never have a VooDEW flavor that tastes like any of you.

Really, with the first sip, I thought I was drinking a previous VooDEW that tasted like Skittles, but after taking a few more swigs, my taste buds helped me come to a definite answer.

So what do I think it is?

Take the first letter of every sentence in this review, which I’ve separated for convenience, and put them all together for my guess as to what this delicious VooDEW mystery flavor is.

  1. This is rumored to be the last year for VooDoo based on YouTube/social media food reviewers. Specifically Chris Frezza and Markie Devo Instagram. Mt Dew selling out to collating with open candy brands similar to direction that supplement companies have taken. It will allow them to essentially advertise and get more money. Super disappointing. The MtDew CEOs have no idea the Halloween tradition they are messing with.

  2. Clever trick to avoid spoilers! I like that!

Unfortunately the latest leak is this is the end at least for now for mountain dew voodoo mystery flavors. The word is voodoo will not be returning in 2025. Beyond that who knows.

As an aside the option to notify of new replies seems to be gone again. Could you please look into that? Thanks a bunch!

  3. I’ll have to pass on trying this because if your guess is correct then that is by far the worst flavor of that particular candy.

  4. I think your guess is correct and I love how you spilled it. I also agree with the review score. Second best one yet behind 2022.

  5. I don’t think it taste like pink Starburst, and I haven’t had a goobstopper since I was a small child but this is what I heard the flavor was… If you look at the label they even gave a clue and on the top left of the label you can see the moon, saturn, and a white planet, however they are not just planets but are to be hidden goobstoppers, what are your thoughts on this guess??

    1. I initially caught a cherry taste very similar to Code Red, along with blue raspberry and lime. Sour Punch candy, maybe?

  6. I ? agree on the flavor with you, but there is a hint in the label. Starburst is owned by mars. That’s why there’s planets on the left side. Guess it could be Skittles too, they are also Mars brand.

  7. I say that it’s Gobstoppers…..

Look at the artwork on the bottle for a hint also… I see the spheres getting smaller and changing color like a Gobstopper does as you suck on it.. ??
