SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 2/13/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers.

Lay's Sriracha

Lay's Cheesy Garlic Bread

Lay's Chicken and Waffles

Here are the Lay’s Do Us a Flavor Finalists! We already reviewed the Lay’s Chicken & Waffles Potato Chips. Sriracha is definitely interesting. And Cheesy Garlic Bread makes me yearn for breadsticks. Update: Here’s our Sriracha and Cheesy Garlic Bread reviews. (Spotted by Adam at Weis.)

Sweet & Spicy BBQ SunChips

The number of Sun Chips flavors hasn’t grown much over the years, so it’s nice to see a new flavor. Perhaps, Sun Chips should get more sunlight and water to help them grow. (Spotted by Andy at Coborn’s.)

Cheetos Mix Ups Cheezy Salsa Mix

What’s with the Z replacing the S in Cheetos Mix-Ups Cheezy Salsa Mix? Does Chester Cheetah have to prove how cool he is by trading those letters? I just hope there isn’t another Cheetos Mix-Ups flavor with the butchered word “Xtra” in its name. (Spotted by Jonathan at Weis.)

Cheetos Mix-Ups Xtra Cheezy Mix

Well, all rightie then. (Spotted by Adam at Weis.)

Yoplait Strawberry Blast Pro-Force

When I think of Pro-Force, I don’t think of yogurt for kids. Instead I think of police gear, martial arts gear, cleaning products, debris blowers, and temporary staffing agencies. (Spotted by Marvo at Safeway.)

Thank you to all the photo contributors! If you’re out shopping and see an interesting new or limited edition product on the shelf (or really unusual), snap a picture of it, and send us an email (theimpulsivebuy@gmail.com) with where you found it and “Spotted” in the subject line. If you do so, you might see your picture in our next Spotted on Shelves post.

  1. Speaking of cheesy garlic bread chips… I’m still waffling (see what I did there?) on buying a bag of the new “cheesy garlic” totino’s rolls. Unfortunately they only come in packs of 40. I need a review first — I’m looking at you, Marvo! I bought the Meatball Marinara version a couple weeks ago and am still working through them. They’re actually pretty good, maybe, dare I say, better than the standard Totino’s Pizza Roll.

    1. I’ve been looking for them, but I have yet to see them here. I’m eager to find out for myself if they’re a step above regular Pizza Rolls.

  2. I just saw the Cheetos in the store today. Had to grab a bag, but eating them has to wait on getting all the other snacks in the house eaten down first XD

  3. huge cheetos fan here. saw this post last week and grabbed a bag of these the same night (Giant Eagle Stores in Cleveland Ohio). Thoroughly disappointed. No spice to any flavor. The non-puffs ones all fell to the bottom (which they are the worst of the four flavors). The flavors were listed on the bag, so at least I had an idea of what they were supposed to taste like. If you’re expecting paws, you’ll be let down.

Also, RIP Paws. Forever in our hearts.
