Sonic has three new breakfast items to start your day with.
There’s the French Toaster, a breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese, and your choice of bacon or sausage on a maple-flavored Texas Toast-style bun. Then there’s the Ciabatta Breakfast Sandwich, which has eggs, cheese, and your choice of bacon or sausage on a ciabatta bun.
Finally, Sonic is now offering their own take of the popular croissant-donut hybrid. However, instead of being shaped like donuts, they’re donut holes and they come with a creme brulee dipping sauce.
Update: Commenter lauramich brought to our attention that the Ciabatta Breakfast Sandwich isn’t new. It appears to be a discontinued item Sonic brought back, but with a different name.
If you’ve tried any of new Sonic breakfast items, let us know what you think of them in the comments.
(Thanks for the photo, Stanley!)
Actually, the ciabatta sandwich is technically a returning item, not a new item. It was on the menu years ago, then it was discontinued. I, for one, welcome its return; it was a lighter alternative to the greasy toaster sandwiches and heavy burritos.
I tried the Doughnuts. They were not very good. On their own they tasted very bland. The sauce was good and tasted like Creme Brulee custard but did not make up for the blandness of the doughnuts.
The ciabatta sandwich was my favorite thing about sonic’s breakfast, glad to hear it’s returning.
Mmm, I’ve been craving French toast for so long. I never buy stuff at Sonic but the thought of a sweet and salty French toast sandwich just calls my name
Are these available at all stores or are they just being tested at some locations? Thanks.
We’re not sure.
in what store was this found?
In what store was this found? Thanks.
They must not be available in all stores, because I went to Sonic this morning and the only new item was the Ciabatta toaster. The same ultimate meat and cheese burrito was there, along with the old breakfast toaster, but they did not have the French toaster nor the cronuts.
I tried the new bacon French toaster. Unfortunately for my waistline, it was delicious. However, the amount of bacon was lacking. On the regular toaster it seems to have plenty of bacon whereas the one I got today had 3 limp and very tiny strips. VERY tiny. I’m pretty sure this was probably just an oversight as they were very busy. I can’t seem to find any nutritional information anywhere, not even on Sonic’s own web site, which is discouraging because I log everything I eat.
I had a French toaster yesterday, I actually work at a sonic so I got to see the cooks make it. now, at my sonic the cooks are very nice and tend to give you more than average, so I believe it depends on the place. the toasters are very good with syrup BTW!
I can tell you that they are pre-wrapped, because I work at the company that wraps them.
Who makes the french toast?
The French Toast Toaster is pure heaven. I dipped mine in syrup and I literally cannot think of something better to say than IT WAS THE BEST FREAKING THING EVERRR
