SPOTTED ON SHELVES: Bagel Bites Breakfast

Bagel Bites Breakfast – Version 2

Bagel Bites Breakfast (Bacon, Sausage & Cheese and Sausage, Egg & Cheese)

According to the Bagel Bites website, in order to get 8, 9, or 10 grams of protein, one would have to eat four Bagel Bites. There are nine Bagel Bites per box. Why not just have eight per box so there can be two equal servings? Or change the serving size to three and lower the promoted grams of protein per serving? (Spotted by Amy at Safeway.)

  1. So I know that everybody loves bacon (and pork in general)… but they really missed an opportunity to market to vegetarians and people who keep kosher by including pork in every gosh darn breakfast product. WHY. Even freakin’ hot pockets all have pig. NOT EVERYONE WANTS PIG FOR BREAKFAST.

Sorry for the rant. I just needed to vent. It’s been a long day.

  2. There are 9 in a box because they are terrorists who want to drive parents crazy because their two kids will always, always fight over the last one.

Or because 3×3 bites fit in the square packaging. Either way.

  3. That fact has ALWAYS gotten me about Bagel Bites. That and if you cook it according to instructions, you have to cook the whole box. Not that I CAN’T consume the whole box – I just know I SHOULDN’T.

    1. If you do eat the whole box you spend the next couple hours on the toilet.

      Fact.

      1. No it’s not i ate who boxes of Bagel Bites plenty of times and never spent time on the toilet

  4. If a measly box of bagel bites sends you for a prolonged stay on the toilet- maybe you’re eating the wrong one… I have wonky innards but have no ill effects from eating a tray of nine 3-cheese bagel bites when they’re on sale. My records say that’s just 428 calories, 11 grams of fat, 63 grams of carbohydrate, and 15.8 grams of protein. That’s about 50% more protein and about the same amount of fat as in a slice (1/8 of a pie) of a Dominos large pizza with veggie toppings. Should digest fine, unless you’re overdoing on other food and drink at the same time. Perhaps bagel bites, like melons, are best savoured on their own rather than mixed with other edibles.

  5. The 9 bagel bites per box issue has bothered me since I was a child. I’m sure there is some engineer who can figure out how to fit 8 or 10 into a square package…or change the packaging entirely.
