  1. If 1 1/2 pounds of meat makes 12 servings, that works out to only 2 ounces per serving. Seems kinda skimpy.

  2. “Meat Crumble” and “Textured Vegetable Protein” … YUM! Nothing says delicious like vague mystery meat/non-meat(s) in a sauce for $3-4.

  3. because it’s really hard to mix a can of sauce or seasoning mix into ground beef?

  4. Actually these sound pretty cost effective to me. Ground beef is around 3.50 a pound here then another $1 or so for the seasoning packet. So $4.50 for a pound. With this product we get an extra half pound plus convenience. I’ll definitely try this…if I can find it.

  5. I just wish I could find these. They really look good and the Hormel ready taco meat is ok but $6 is a bit much

  6. Which section of the store is it in? I searched the meat and frozen but couldn’t find it.

  7. i use to get this from Food Lion, where the other banquet items were located, cant find it anymore…any ideas where i can find it ?

  8. I bought this on sale for 1.99 one night when I was exhausted and hungry. I chose to heat it up in a frying pan which worked well.
The taste? Sigh. I through the stuff I put on a bun away and kept the rest for spaghetti. It tastes like jarred spaghetti sauce with odd hamburger-like meat. Very tart like tomato but it didn’t have any meat flavor. I was very disappointed because I love sloppy joes If you tossed some more “meat” in a jar of “meat” spaghetti sauce, you’d have this product
Probably a reason it was on sale.

  9. I just tried the Taco version and I ended up throwing 90% of away. It tasted like taco flavored saw dust and it looks like canned cat food. Just buy ground beef and a taco packet, this stuff is terrible.
