” So for now just imagine they’re fried with a funnel cake batter (probably not true).”
That’s a great idea, I hope it’s true.
They have the best fast food chicken I have ever eaten.
I’m going to give them a try!
GIVE ME CHICKEN WAFFLE TENDERS!

Only going to be sold for 4 days?
no no no… Take down the coming soon sign down on the 27th.
Churches is launching Honey-Butter Biscuit Tenders on Monday, and I remember a while back they launched similar LTOs at the same time, so perhaps this will be a funnel cake batter or something sweet?
Got a flier in the mail today for Popeye’s Southern Fair chicken tenders. Says “NEW!”, not “coming soon”. Also advertises NEW WILD HONEY MUSTARD DIPPING SAUCE.
I asked the people at Popeyes in Chico, CA when they would have the Southern Fair chicken tenders. I was told that the company was unable to get one of the ingredients in time, so they replaced it with the Big Box for April. They plan to have the Southern Fair tenders in May.
Wish the sign or someone had told me it was a different batter…they were so sweet I didn’t finish them and wouldn’t have ordered if I’d known. The breading was also clumpy in places and just mealy, not crisp. Was asked “what kind of sauce” I wanted so I asked for Buffalo but got none at all. S a diabetic I shouldn’t be eating at Popeye’s at all but I’ll stick with spicy original Popeye’s when I do.
Oh my darn it, these are so yummy. I wasn’t going to buy them, but then she said, “They come out of the fryer looking like a fried corndog.” SOLD. First bite and I knew I’d be back, with my family. It’s sweet but so good.
They’re okay, I prefer spicy chicken, these are kinda bland. They have a subtle sweetness, but I thought the pine cone like batter was off-putting. Tastes like “andy’s” fish batter.
Terrible , first of all they are NOT tenders they are ? breast sliced up the breading was so thick it was disgusting , i had indigestion all day
We got them cooked fresh for the Kentucky derby party and everyone loved them. Yes, there is some sweetness to the batter, but the coating was not thick or clumpy, and adhered nicely to the tenders. Leftovers were perfect heated in the microwave, and although they lost their crispness, the flavor of the batter stood out and were quite yummy.
Just tried them for the first time. definitely a sweet batter but not bad. I won’t get them again as I prefer the original batter because it’s more crispy. But that honey mustard sauce was excellent. I hope they keep that even when the tenders special passes.
I had some today , some of the best tasting tenders I have ever ate. Delicious will eat them again.
I couldn’t get enough of the 3 piece chicken tenders. I hope this type o’ chicken is a recurring item
The BEST non-regular batter offering they have ever had. SOOOO GOOD!
I loved them! I hope they bring them back!
They were the absolute WORST!! Couldn’t tell if it was chicken or fish by the cornmeal. I really thought I was given the wrong order once I got home.
