I mean, the new Double Chalupa is here!
The “new” menu item features a double serving of seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, a three cheese blend, reduced-fat sour cream, and nacho cheese sauce in a larger Chalupa shell. The Spicy Double Chalupa includes everything in the regular version, but also comes with jalapeños.
A Double Chalupa has 600 calories, 35 grams of fat, 8 grams of saturated fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 50 milligrams of cholesterol, 1010 milligrams of sodium, 50 grams of carbohydrates, 6 grams of fiber, 5 grams of sugar, and 21 grams of protein.

The “reduced fat sour cream” cracks me up. “Awwww, hell yeah! I can have three of these bad boys since the sour cream is reduced fat!” 😛
lol
I personally enjoyed them. Granted, they’ve since been discontinued but, at least at our local Taco Bell, they were always massive, and 9 times out of 10, surprisingly looked a lot like the picture. They did tend to get a little messy, so I would usually put it on a plate, and eat it with a fork. I thought it was great. Had the spicy more than the regular. Three packs of fire spread on top finished it off. There were usually enough jalapeños that each bite contained at least one. Granted, they’ll never replace the Bacon Club, which sadly, finally came back but without the signature club sauce resulting in a chalupa which, sadly, paled in comparison to the original Bacon Club. My only hope now is to order a regular chalupa, add extra meat, and add jalapeños, and hope it tastes reminiscent of the spicy double. I really enjoyed it and hopefully it’ll come back one day.
