That story don’t tell you how Oreo got their named
@JHH: I like the explanation that was provided in the article, as to the then-war between competitors Hydrox and Nabisco (on the Oreo side): “Someone at Nabisco clearly had a thing for botany, and to understand Oreo, you don’t have to look any further than the mountain laurel on every Hydrox—Oreodaphne. It was a copycat in every way. “
If you like baking, I highly recommend the cookbook that the Oreo story is from- Bravetart by Stella Parks. I got my copy the other day. It has a lot of interesting stories about the origins of popular American desserts. (lol, this sounds like an ad. I promise it’s not)
