Sprite has always marketed itself to teenagers, so this Sprite Ginger seems a little off-brand. Maybe it’s only me, but I’m not sure if ginger appeals to the younger crowd.
Of course, as someone who will be admitting for the 2020 Census that he is in a much higher age bracket than teens and has never spelled the word “thick” with two c’s, I don’t know what kiddos like nowadays.
But my adult palate does know what it likes when it comes to caffeine-free, non-alcoholic carbonated sugary beverages to help me relax after a long day of adulting — lemon-lime soda and ginger ale.
Deciding which one to drink is never a difficult decision, but with this new beverage, I have another option that combines the two.
Visually, it looks like an original Sprite. But when the cap is twisted off, a noticeable ginger aroma comes out of the bottle. An equally prominent ginger flavor comes through with every sip. That flavor drives the beverage, while the lemon-lime takes a backseat, making it taste more like a ginger ale than a Sprite.
I can understand why the lymon soda brand decided to add the spice to its classic, clear, and citrusy beverage. It’s because the combination is delicious. Before this, the only proof I had to back up that statement was Canada Dry’s Ginger Ale and Lemonade that’s been around for a couple of years.
When comparing Sprite Ginger with Canada Dry’s Ginger Ale and Lemonade, the former tastes more ginger-forward, while the latter is more lemon-forward. While their flavors are on different sides of the ginger spectrum, both are equally refreshing and satisfying to my taste buds.
Sprite Ginger is an excellent beverage. But if you’re not a fan of ginger ale, you probably won’t feel the same way.

Its has not come in the northeast main land at all too
I’m a big ginger-beverage fan and I haven’t seen this, or the “Canada Dry Bold” yet show up in the stores I’ve been too. I’m in the San Diego CA area.
The Canada Dry Bold, is BOSS! It packs a punch though! But I love it! I wish they bottled it in 20oz. size.
smh gingerale… its not for consumption. its the best for upset stomachs and traveling.. thats it.. though sprtie remix is amazing though its the only way to down that stufff
I’d give this a 6.5/10, maybe a 7. I didn’t get the big ginger smell or flavor the reviewer did at first smell and sip. There’s some ginger there, but the initial flavor is slightly off-putting. It was almost medicinal. The more you drink though, the more the Sprite flavor comes thru and it blends decently with the ginger. It’s not great by any means, but it’s decent enough. You’d probably be better off though buying your favorite ginger ale and mixing it with some Sprite.
I love this! My husband loves this! I read reviews that claimed you could barely taste a ginger flavor. But we tasted it, and thought it was great. Not gingery like Hosmer Mountain Dry Ginger Ale (available in Connecticut), but it was very good. Fourteen-year-old daughter said, “Meh.” *
*Disclaimer: Fourteen-year-old daughter says, “Meh” to everything.
A mess! The ginger is not prominent in the least. It tastes like regular sprite and i am sad. Do not buy unless you want to sip on disappointment. DO NOT BUY.
From a big fan of ginger ale, I was very disappointed. I did not find this mix appealing at all. It was merely a Sprite with a “medicinal taste” as another person stated. No one in my household liked it and therefore it was poured down the drain.
I was very disappointed in the new Sprite flavor.
There was absolutely no hint of ginger. It actuallty tasted more like a household cleaner.
I will not purchase this product again.
Thank you for hearing my opinion.
I actually agree with the original review. I am a huge fan of ginger-ale (preferably Schweep’s). Admittedly, I do not regularly drink ginger-ale straight but use it as more of a mixer in my adult beverages. The pleasantry with the Sprite Ginger is that it is actually enjoyable just as it is without being mixed or added to alcohol. I assume this is likely due to the fact that Sprite it sweeter than Ginger Ale to begin with, but the added ginger flavor helps to knock back some of that sweetness in my opinion which makes it more enjoyable to my palate. Simply stated for my tastes, Sprite is too sweet, Ginger Ale is very bland, the combination is heavenly!
I did not like it the first day I tried it,but after it sat in the fridge a day or two( I had a bottle so it did not go flat) somehow it tasted a little better. Or maybe I was just really thirsty. The only way I can describe how it tasted to me was that it tasted like what grass would taste like. I know weird huh? I would not buy it again.
I was totally unimpressed. It had little ginger or lemon lime flavor. In fact I thought it tasted like someone had poured lemon lime seltzer water into a cup that had been previously washed in ginger scented dish soap without completely rinsing it.
Not for us. Not refreshing, or good tasting. We are quizzical on the taste, and why ruining a good thing is a good choice by someone who doesn’t know or understand Coke’s bad decision to replace Coke with New Coke in the 90’s. That was a bad experiment then, this is a bad experiment now.
I saw it for the first time yesterday. I tried it, but I wasn’t impressed. It was weak. Maybe if it had more ginger it could be a hit! Maybe they could use peach or a fusion of pink grapefruit! Just some ideas.
