Kellogg’s is combining two of its iconic cereals into one with Mashups Cereal with Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes + Froot Loops. The limited edition cereal will be available in June at retailers nationwide. It’ll be available in two sizes — a 9.8 oz. box (SRP $3.99) and a Family Size 15.06 oz. box (SRP $5.69).
This has got me thinking about other Kellogg’s cereal Mashups I’d like to taste. Rice Krispies + Corn Flakes. Frosted Flakes + Raisin Bran. Frosted Mini Wheats + Raisin Bran. Although, if I wasn’t so lazy, I could make all those mashups right now by buying the cereals individually.

Are they really so lazy now that they can’t come up with new flavors or new cereals? Not exciting at all or looking forward to mashups we can easily create ourselves.
All I can think of is… They’re either running out of ideas or their creative staff is greatly reduced as a result of the virus.
Golden Grahams and Cocoa Krispies
I’ve been making my own mashups forever. My favorite was a Cheerios mashup of Banana Nut and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors.
I’d like to see a mashup of Corn Chex, Rice Chex and Wheat Chex, just to make it easier to make Chex Mix. Yes, I know that pre-made Chex Mixes already exist, but the cereals used in the Chex Mixes are not vitamin-fortified, so the homemade Chex Mix is nutritionally better.
That what I have been thinking too! Why it’s taking forever for Chex just to do this! Instead of buying 3 boxes and then wasting shelf space. One box and you scoop out whatever you need.
“Chex Mix Starter” would be great branding. Also it gives you flexibility to create your very own mix ranging from savory to sweet. They could do a GF mix too minus the wheat one.
Because right now you need to buy three boxes to make it. Why would they want you to buy one box instead?
But isn’t that exactly what they’re doing with the mashups?…
Exactly, Thistle. Why would they want to sell 1/3 of the product? That will never happen.
Buy a Rubbermaid cereal container. They hold at least 2 regular boxes of cereal without taking up much pantry space. Plus it keeps the cereal fresher longer.
