Here are some interesting new products found on store shelves by your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.
There’s also a version with just a splash of milk and no flavoring. (Spotted by @TheJoshCatlett at Walmart.)

The Sunkist Berry Lemonade is amazing!
That’s great to know, thanks. That’s the only product on this list that I wanted to try.
No new posts in 4 days? Everything ok?
ha I was wondering the same!
I always love reading reviews (and comments) on here, so was disappointed not to see anything new for a while.
Tehehe, we’re like helicopter parents worried about their child at college. 🙂
hehehe Right??
Is the funetti kisses permanent?
The sugar cookie Kisses were seasonal. I am not sure about the Birthday Cake.
I’m worried too. Does anyone else read Freezer Frenzy? They’ve been silent for a couple of days, which is also odd.
Never heard of that one! I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!
The website owner succumbed to COVID, caused by somebody photographing a product (gasp!) INSIDE a supermarket!
They usually post Monday through Friday, and very rarely on Saturday or Sunday. But yeah, it’s now Wednesday with no updates. I hope everything is okay, too.
While we are bored and chatty, has anyone tried the new Hershey’s Strawberry Ice Cream Cone Kisses?
Nope, and I love your comment hehe. I actually hadn’t even heard of those! Sound awesome! Do they have like a strawberry creme center with ice cream cone crunchy bits in it?!?!?!
It’s a strawberry cream flavored kiss with little cookie pieces throughout.
Sounds like a misnomer then! Should have called it Strawberry Sugar Cookie. Or stuck with the ice cream cone theme and done wafer bits in it.
No, but that sounds yummy. While I am not generally a “sweets person” (instead, I’ve always craved salty food), I do tend to enjoy a chocolate-fruit combo.
“I’ve always craved salty food.” You’re sick, and weird, and I’m so happy I don’t know you. 😛
Well, I suppose you must think the same of me too…fine be me!
fine by*
I bet you’re super fun at parties, Rachel.
If I ever went to them, I’m sure I wouldn’t be. Also, I was being sarcastic/dramatic, not serious.
I’m picky about my chocolate-fruit combos. Feel as though certain fruits lend themselves better to white vs. dark vs. milk. Classically can’t go wrong with strawberry and any of the aforementioned though!
(Marvo will have a field day seeing how the readers have taken over this post *crying laughing emoji*)
They’re good. They taste a lot like strawberry ice cream. I would eat them again.
Personally, I can’t stand white chocolate; never even liked it, as a kid, when one of my well-meaning grandmas often gave me white-chocolate bunnies for Easter, each year (though I pretended to enjoy them, so as to never hurt her feelings).
Of the types of chocolate, I’ve always preferred dark…and the dark-chocolate-with-orange and dark- chocolate-with-raspberry have always been my preferred (the latter being much harder to find).
(And, yep…Marvo: hope you don’t mind that several of your faithful followers have overtaken this, particular, post! hee)
Speaking of which: I have a 5-lb. box of dark chocolate covered orange peel that I purchased on Black Friday beaconing to me . . . . 🙂
nom…Envious!
It’s become my annual holiday season gift to myself, and actually lasts me the full year (I can practice self-control). 🙂
I think the key is that it’s DARK chocolate! For me, a tiny bit fixes the crave. It’s definitely something to be savoured. Now white and milk chocolate? I can not practice the same restraint. Scientifically I suppose it is due to their higher sugar contents.
Not sure how it can last the full year. I’d worry about it going bad before then if I were you.
Dark chocolate with fruit is always a winner. What brand of dark chocolate orange do you like? I might need to get some for myself.
I’ve been happy with the dark chocolate covered orange peel from Oh! Nuts online (at, as you might guess, ohnuts dot com). They also have dark chocolate covered other fruits, such as mango, orange slices, apricots (!), berries, etc. I did a fair amount of searching for manageable pricing earlier, and came up with them as a best (e.g. if you buy a 5-lb. box of the dark chocolate covered orange peel, shipping, which otherwise can be expensive from candy stores online, is free)–and the quality is good, right up there with what I’ve purchased or been gifted with previously. (In fact, I have a suspicion that Oh! Nuts was the source for chocolate covered orange peel that I’ve received from local candy stores, as Oh! Nuts also sells in bulk.) At least the past 2 years, they’ve had great specials for specific items and across-the-board on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when I’ve stocked up–kept in a cool (or just non-sunny) location, the chocolate covered orange peel has been fine for me throughout the year, until the next sale (although I really should take out a portion at a time and then seal the rest up in a more air-tight set-up–I’ve just kept it in the original box). 🙂 The store even takes some care with the product, putting the chocolate covered orange peel in single-item layers separate by tissue paper. Highly recommended!
Sounds like you’ve found a great product!
Lindt does a really nice dark chocolate orange bar called “intense orange.”
I have had the Lindt dark chocolate orange but nothing compares to the orange rind, it’s fantastic. I am going to have to splurge.
Be careful with Oh Nuts.com. Some of their products absolutely suck! I’m not talking about their chocolate dipped fruit, though. I have no experience with that. 🙂
Yay! You’re a chocolate and orange fan! I knew you were one of the good ones. hehe.
As far as the white chocolate; I would implore you not to judge it from the “chocolate” bunny! It was most likely confectionary “chocolate.” And, that being said, I still respect you if you just have a distaste for white chocolate! To each their own.
Holly May, I think that you’re 100% correct as to the dark chocolate angle–3 pieces of dark chocolate covered orange peel will meet my craving and I’m satisfied. Likewise with Hershey’s Kisses/dark chocolate. Whereas with milk chocolate, the Kisses are like potato chips, and I suddenly can find a mound of foil wrappers at my side. Personally, I’m generally more satisfied with “mature” dark chocolate, but sometimes just have the need to go back to my earlier years and have a milk chocolate fix, lol.
My recent coup/discovery: a local supermarket selling off 9 oz. bags of Hershey’s dark chocolate kisses with molten dark chocolate centers (“Lava Cake” Kisses) last month (a post-Valentine’s Day sale/special?) at a whopping 75% off. I somehow ended up with 14 bags in my pantry . . . . 🙂
So true! It’s nice to have a nostalgic guilty pleasure every now and then!
Oooooh, those sound yummy! I’m not typically a “regular” Hershey’s Kisses fan, though I love many of the LTOs; especially the ones with filling!
I agree, I don’t care for white chocolate either! However, I do have to say that the Hershey’s cookies and cream isn’t half bad! I would never seek it out but if someone had one and offered me just a small piece, again, it would have to be a small piece, I would eat it.
OK, as far as the bunnies at Easter (I know I am dating myself here) does anyone remember getting a chocolate bunny, or other figure, that was wrapped in a wax that you would have to break open in order to get to the chocolate? Where I grew up we had a neighbor that would always give those to us. As a child I thought it was a cool idea but, of course, the chocolate wasn’t so good, especially if you got the dreaded white chocolate!
Hmmm…I don’t actually remember those. I even just tried Googling it, and didn’t come up with anything. I just remember the ones wrapped in gold or silver foil, that you unwrapped and that were hollow inside (so, essentially, you had to break the bunny open in order to eat it; gee, sounds a bit morbid now, that I’m typing it…haha).
I remember those, too. If I am remembering correctly, the wax coated ones had hollow chocolate inside of them, also! So you would go to all of that trouble to break open the wax (most of which stuck to the chocolate) and then it was hollow, and not very good! She was an elderly lady so maybe she had a special place that she knew of to buy them?
Aww…I love happy childhood memories, like that!
Search “Vtg RARE W. & F. MFG Co. Peel Away Hollow Milk Chocolate Bunny Rabbit”. This listing is on Ebay. They have other ones like a lamb, chick in an egg, etc. Wow, now I bet that chocolate is terrible! LOL!!!!
bahahaha! Eating one of those would certainly NOT be for the faint of heart! I’m guessing they are solely for collecting purposes (at least one would hope). I presume the wax outer shell helped to keep them intact for all those decades. Neat stuff!
If you don’t love the Hershey’s cookies and cream bar, then you and I would never get along. 😛 I stay far away from it to protect my waistline. 😀
LOL! I know the feeling with trying to stay away from any candy/sweets!!!
I like you already. 😀
Hershey’s Cookies and Cream bar is probably the best Hershey’s product I have ever consumed! I can easily polish that off once it’s opened!
Their discontinued S’mores bar was wonderful, as well! I was SO pissed when it was discontinued!
LOL! It is/was! I just remember when I was little and just wanted candy for Easter and then our sweet, elderly neighbor gave me a wax figure (even though it was really nice of her) and then I couldn’t eat it right away since you have to peel or “chisel” the wax off! LOL!!!!
I bet she gave out pennies and pencils on Hallowe’en! 🙂
I think she may have! LOL!!!!D
Marvo my life is incomplete without you
Ditto. At least fellow commenters are providing internet company! Gosh…reminds me of the day that GrubGrade stopped updating. I have a feeling that Marvo will be back…either to start putting posts up again or at least have the decency to sadly tell us that there will no longer be new posts.
I feel the same way about Grub Grade. I occasionally pop in, to sigh as I see that burger, yet again…
Freezer Meal Frenzy is another page I love and follow, and they abruptly stopped posting. The admin kindly responded and said they had a sick staff member and would be back to posting next week. Are these two related? Who knows? Do I spend too much time worrying about this? Don’t answer that. Ha!
🙂
And I know that people more so are now doing all video reviews etc. I don’t like that personally, give me something to read!!!
Totally agree with this! I’d rather read reviews, any day!
Right??
After being a long-time reader/lurker (though I hate that latter word; makes someone sound like a creepo), and now finally being an active contributor to the comments, and such…I would especially be sad if this blog doesn’t continue! It has been a consistent bright spot in my daily life, and so many people on here have been a joy to talk to!
Tamme, you should check out BrandEating.com!!! We’re a fun bunch of commentors! I love the blog and the community that it has built.
Oh, thanks for the reco, Holly May; I’ll definitely check that one out today! I need something to fill this food-blog void…
My pleasure! Haha, I know the feeling. I think you’ll really enjoy BrandEating.
Rachel: Thanks for the info. about Oh! Nuts. I’ve had no issue with my Black Friday/Cyber Monday chocolate covered orange peel purchases from them during the past 2 years–hopefully that continues for future purchases from them as well, lol. And the candy has been fine over the course of the year–I keep it stored out of the way in the original box with the opened shrink wrap still around it (I really should put the box in a larger, airtight container or closed plastic bag as well, to further assure matters). It was only after 11 months (really!), when I was down to the last few ounces, when I noticed that the chocolate might have been a *little* drier than it had been originally (but it still tasted just fine). 🙂
I have had good luck with all of their stuff so far. Some of it is dangerously addictive.
You’re welcome. I’m happy to help. 🙂 One quick note, their orange creamsicle coconut slices are very enjoyable, IMHO, if you like coconut.
Ooooooh…orange creamsicle coconut?! I’m intrigued!
I love The Impulsive Buy so much, been in my life for years. I hope everything is okay with Marvo and his family. I hope the site continues. It’s a bright spot in my day.
Also, I think of all the times Marvo was looking for new reviewers and I always chickened out. *I coulda been a contender. I could’ve been somebody!* LOL.
*Movie Quote from On the Waterfront (1954).
I’m starting to think The Impulsive Buy is officially a causality of the pandemic. He already said he was more interested in spending time with his kid than posting. That and I’m sure the lack of things to post probably equals the end. We were barely getting post as it is.
