Earlier this year, we saw the release of a gluten-free version of the iconic Oreo cookie. Another popular product getting the gluten-free treatment is DiGiorno’s thick hand-tossed crust pizza.
The brand’s gluten-free offering is available in two flavors — Pepperoni and Four Cheese. According to DiGiorno, they’ll be the only certified gluten free pizzas in the frozen aisle featuring a thick hand tossed crust.
Both pizzas have a suggested retail price of $9.99 and will be at select Target stores nationwide beginning this month (they might even be there already). A wider retailer rollout is planned for later this year.
(Thanks to DiGiorno for the images and info.)
I live in the Columbus, OH area and I think they tested these here. I found them twice and really liked them because they weren’t normal thin crust GF pizza. Glad to see they are coming back!
Hi, Sophia! I’m down in Cincinnati/NKY.
I haven’t tried this, and yes, I appreciate that it is just not a typical cracker like thin crust. I looked up the ingredients and am pleased that the flours and starches they use are not offensive in flavour, like chickpea flour tends to be.
A YouTube channel I follow Tami Dunn, did a review and they said you wouldn’t know it was gluten free. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6Mv7qoSsfPE
