It makes sense for Milk Bar to make milk ice cream. These are currently only available at Whole Foods. If this becomes successful, I imagine there will be Milk Bar Ice Cream Bars. Well, at least I hope there is because Milk Bar Ice Cream Bar has a nice ring to it. (Spotted by Sarah R at Whole Foods.)

Interestingly, *none* of those flavors sounds interesting to me, between the addition of gooiness and of meh breakfast cereal. Instead, just give me good *ice cream or gelato*. Just one person’s opinion.
Milk Bar sells ice cream in their stores so it makes sense they are adding them to the retail line of products. It is nice to see a few unique ice cream combos out there.
I’m curious to see if the ice cream is as bad as the cookies. I’ve had two of the boxed Milk Bar cookies from Fresh Market –and I was VERY disappointed compared to the hype in the recipe books from Milk Bar (had to try the compost cookie first, then birthday to make sure they were really as bad as I’d thought with another slightly more baseline flavor–and no, sadly, cookies were really awful.)
Hmm, interested to know what was so bad about them? Maybe they are some of those items that are really only best served in the stores? I’ve never been disappointed the couple of times I’ve visited.
Hi Holly, they had a “soft cookie” taste similar to a number of cheap brands, like the “Grandma’s” brand. It was eight two inch cookies to a Milk Bar carton (cute packaging!) that I found at a Fresh Market chain store. So, really overpriced and tiny versions of what you’d usually forage for at a gas station in desperation on a eight hour car trip. Bleah!
I’m presuming that these were “in name only” for commercial consumption and that the actual Milk Bar cookies from their NY store would be better–but after that experience, I’m not as anxious to try them through, say, Goldbelly like I once was!
I got the holiday set at Target last year and was disappointed too – very expensive, very low quality I thought. So I’m suspicious how well the ice cream would do.
The ice cream was raved by YouTuber Family Food Dude, who gave 8/10s to three of the flavors and 9/10 to birthday cake. I’m going to go to my nearest WF tomorrow to grab the Cereal Milk and Birthday Cake!!
Totally agree, I was excited to try the cookies but was seriously underwhelmed. I didn’t think they were awful, I mean they’re still cookies after all, but they’re certainly nothing special and definitely not worth the price.
Still interested in trying the ice cream though! Who knows, maybe we’ll be surprised.
the cookies suck the ice cream is WAY better. scooped the cornflake pint a couple days ago and it really delivered! absolutely worth the $6 IMO if you’re down with the flavors they’re offering!
Wow–$6 for a 14-oz. “pint.” Time for me to pick up some Ben & Jerry’s (in a 16-oz. pint) at the next regular supermarket sale price of $2.50 or $3. 😉 But we all have our own preferences.
I was pleasantly surprised by all of these! I agree with the comments here that the cookies were a MAJOR disappointment. The ice creams were really delicious and I think that $5.99 felt like a decent price considering some of the other ice creams in Whole Foods. Worth a try!
