The Truth & Dairy gelato looks delicious; but the price, $5.99 for a pint, not so much . . . .
@Mike S Ice Cream Pints are getting ridiculous anymore with prices. It’s crazy that you can even buy some half-gallon containers for prices nearly $2.00 cheaper than some pint size prices. No ones ice cream is that good to charge $4 or more for a pint.
Hmm…you don’t know much about ice cream or gelato, do you?
I know supermarket gelato is just overpriced ice cream and is nothing like actual gelato you’d get at a gelato shop. And most anything that comes in a pint these days is extremely overpriced. Probably explains why so many pints tend to stay on the shelves unless they’re on sale.
…yeah, you’re still a little lost.
I completely agree with this. There’s a local ice cream shop in my city that makes really good homemade ice cream. They sell the pints, in addition to selling scoops. The pints are $10, which is ridiculous, even for good quality ice cream. It can usually be eaten in 2-3 sittings, so I’m paying $3-$5 per sitting, which is crazy.
That’s not crazy. That’s how much you would pay if you buy a single serve scoop at the shop.
It’s only crazy if you’re buying something like that everyday, but for the rare splurge here & there it’s not that crazy.
The most expensive ice cream I’ve ever tried is Jeni’s & the Brown Butter Almond Brittle was amazing! I don’t buy it everyday or even every week, but for a rare treat every now & then it’s worth it. I would rather splurge on something like that than waste my money on mediocre brands like Breyers & end up throwing it in the trash since most of their flavors are frozen dairy dessert & taste like garbage.
I’ve tried it, and believe me when I say that the orange gelato is worth it. It’s creamy and smooth with a zesty, sweet orange flavor like I’ve never had in orange-flavored frozen desserts. I’ve tried a few other flavors and they were really good, but that orange one…I don’t even like orange all that much, and it almost converted me. I shared a taste with my mom and my brother (both orange lovers) and they agreed it was amazing. It also sometimes goes on sale at my local Sprouts for $1-2 off.
Too bad the Star Gazer Ding Dongs don’t have a unique flavored filling.
The Strawberry Marshmallow Swirl Ice Cream looks pretty good.
I like that Blue Diamond is getting into the baked good box mixes! Great concept.
