I’m so behind. I have never heard or seen anything about this before receiving this photo. You’d think the Instagram’s algorithm would show me something about this. Instead, I get shown baseball videos. (Spotted by Sage G at Walmart.)
If you’re out shopping and see new products, snap a picture of them, and send them in via an email (theimpulsivebuy@gmail.com) with where you found them and “Spotted” in the subject line. Also, if you want to send in photos and are wondering if we’ve already covered something or if they’re new, don’t worry about it. Let us worry about it.
That stuff does NOT look pink! What exactly is it for or supposed to taste like?
It’s some viral homemade everything dipping sauce that started on Instagram. Supposedly made from honey, chili, garlic, oil and dragon fruit ( which gave it its pink color). But yes this FDA approved version isn’t nearly as pink as the Instagram made one. Which may be a good thing since before it was sold in store without FDA approval it was making purchasers very sick.
I’ve not tried it but some youtube reviews say it has a sweet tangy taste and others say it’s kind of like ranch. At almost $8 a bottle , I don’t think I’ll be trying it anytime soon
Dipping sauce from some egotistical nutjob with a major victim complex who was upset that people got sick over her original home baked recipe that she sent out to people. After a lot of complaints and people getting sick, she let a professional company take over. This stuff has been out for a while but doubtful it will last.
The controversy around the original sales of this sauce is worthy of a food safety study and how not to capitalize on viral media study.
If my recollection is correct, essentially, the person who developed the sauce was making it at home and selling it without proper packaging. It has ingredients that needed refrigeration, and bottles were arriving exploded etc followed by people getting sick.
Guys, I seent it. It was $8. Hard pass.
Hehe. “seent.”
I feel sorry for the beautiful Italian pasta pink sauce having its name marred. Also…I just read the ingredients of this stuff…what?!? Does not compute. I don’t get it and I don’t want to get it.
