NEWS: Stay Warm This Fall With Kellogg’s Limited Edition Frosted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Pop-Tarts (If Toasted)

[23/365] Hot chocolate

The Limited Edition Frosted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Pop-Tarts has me thinking why Kellogg’s hasn’t come out with coffee-flavored Pop-Tarts. They’ve overdone chocolate-flavored Pop-Tarts, so I think it’s about time for Kellogg’s to start doing coffee-flavored toaster pastries and then go completely overboard with them. They could start off with coffee, then mocha, cinnamon, vanilla mocha, and so on.

But until then we’re stuck with chocolate.

According to the Kellogg’s website, the Limited Edition Frosted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Pop-Tarts toaster pastry is made up of hot chocolate-flavored crust and a marshmallow filling topped with mocha-colored icing and chocolatey crumbles.

One pastry has 190 calories, 4 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of saturated fat, 1.5 grams of polyunsaturated fat, 1 gram of monounsaturated fat, 260 milligrams of sodium, 36 grams of carbohydrates, less than 1 gram of fiber, 19 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein, and a bunch of vitamin and minerals.

NEWS: Look For Twix Sugar Cookie Minis Soon After Halloween Candy Gets Super Cheap

Sugar Cookies - Beards and Mustaches

The first day of November is like Christmas for those who like Halloween candy because overnight all the Halloween candy still on the shelves magically becomes 30-50 percent cheaper than the day before. This is also when Christmas candy starts appearing on shelves, but at full price.

One candy you’ll see this holiday season replacing all the Halloween stuff is Twix Sugar Cookie Minis. They have the same old Twix chocolate and caramel, but the cookie finger is replaced with a sugar cookie finger that has colorful sugar sprinkles inside it.

Twix Sugar Cookie Minis will be available sometime in November, replacing Halloween-themed Twix bars, and have a suggested retail price of $3.99 for a 10.5 ounce bag.

The first food I learned to make as a child was the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, followed by Cup Noodles. PB&J sandwiches are extremely easy and quick to make, yet kids today have Smucker’s Uncrustables and now these peanut butter and jelly Kid Cuisine Snack Stix. Today’s kids are so spoiled with their iPads, Xbox, and peanut butter and jelly snacks that need to be thawed before eating. Thanks for the photo, Nicole!

You know when you get a card in the mail…Oh wait. No one mails stuff anymore. Let me rephrase. Remember when you got a card in the mail and the person who sent you the card stuffed the envelope with glitter and sparkly things. You could feel the added crap and you knew it was there, but when you opened the envelope and the card, the glitter and sparkly things fell out anyway and on to the floor. Well, these Jell-O pudding cups look like the snack equivalent of those messy pieces of mail. Thanks for the photos, Nicole!

fries

For years, I’ve been hoping that someday there would be limited edition frozen hash browns so I could make fun of the fact there are limited edition frozen hash browns. We’re not quite there yet, but I hope these limited edition waffle cut fries bring us a step closer. Thanks for the photo, Peter!

Cracked Black Pepper and Tomato Basil? Well, I guess having fancy flavors is one way to make eating string cheese somewhat classy. Thanks for the photos, Lauren!

Marie Callender’s is known for their pies, but I have yet to try any of them. That will soon change since I purchased the Chocolate Satin flavor. These pies are mini, about 4 inches in diameter, but their nutrition facts aren’t. One Chocolate Satin mini pie has 24 grams of fat (37 percent DV), 11 grams of saturated fat (55 percent DV), and 2 grams of trans fat. Wow. It looks like Marie Callender’s is trying to Marie Killender’s me.

NEWS: 5-Hour Energy Adds a Pink Lemonade Flavor and Gives Away Five Cents For Each One Sold

Lunch in SLO

5-Hour Energy now has a pink lemonade flavor, joining berry, lemon-lime, orange, grape, and pomegranate.

Holy crap! I didn’t know there were that many 5-Hour Energy flavors. So if I wanted to stay up for 30 hours straight, I could do so drinking every flavor.

However, Pink Lemonade 5-Hour Energy isn’t just a new flavor, the kind folks that make the pick-me-up are donating five cents to the Avon Foundation for Women Breast Cancer Crusade for every bottle of Pink Lemonade 5-Hour Energy that’s sold. The minimum donation they’ll contribute is $75,000.

According to their TV commercial, 5-Hour Energy is used nine million times a week. So if one million of those were Pink Lemonade sales, that’s $50,000 per week. Donations from sales will be running from the beginning of October 2012 to the end of the year. So that’s $50,000 times 14 weeks, which equals…Ugh, I can’t focus and all this math is making my brain tired. I could sure use some 5-Hour Energy.

Only now Heinz has mayonnaise? I could’ve sworn I’ve eaten Heinz mayonnaise somewhere. Maybe it was in a dream? But then, why would the mayonnaise in my dream be so specific? Maybe my subconscious was trying to tell me something. Perhaps it was warning me that I may face a Heinz dilemma soon. Or maybe my subconscious was craving a chicken salad sandwich.

Yes, astute shopper, there’s already a frozen CPK White Pizza. Although, that one uses the crispy thin crust, which I’m not really a fan of. This one uses their restaurant style crust. Preparing it takes significantly less time than the wait time to get a table at a CPK restaurant during lunch and dinner time.

Usually, I’m excited about new products. Sometimes too excited, according to the strange looks on the faces of my fellow grocery shoppers. However, seasoned steamed Brussels sprouts that’s prepared in a microwaveable steamer bag that has the word “NEW” on it doesn’t at all excite me. I dislike Brussels sprouts that much.

I wonder if these Marie Callender’s Comfort Bakes warm me up by giving me a hug from the inside. The flavors Savory Chicken & Rice, Mac & Cheese, and Cheddar & Bacon Potato Bake sound like they could give me temporary comfort from life’s hurdles and then back to stress and sadness after I’ve eaten it all and licked the tray clean to prolong the comfort.

goatweed

I really wish the bottle said, “Horny Goat Weed with Caca.” That would’ve been a more ridiculous name. What does horny goat weed do? The first word of its name says it all. What about the maca with it? It guess it makes one hornier. Personally, I don’t need an aphrodisiac. All it takes for me is a little bit of a bra strap and collarbone and I’m good to go. Thanks for the picture, Nancy!
