Pros: Holy chickpeas! There are a lot of chickpeas! I possibly could make hummus with that many chickpeas. The entire salad has a nice mild dill aroma. Tasty cucumber dill dressing makes me want to eat my vegetables. It’s surprising the croutons didn’t get soggy from being frozen. Good amount of chicken. Enough dressing to coat everything, if you don’t add too much lettuce. This might be my favorite Lean Cuisine Salad Additions variety. Chickpeas and garbanzo beans are fun words to say.
Cons: Not a lot of red peppers, but even fewer olives. I’m never sure how much lettuce to add. Chickpeas didn’t have any flavor, they just seems to bring the fiber. The more lettuce added, the lighter the dressing’s flavor becomes. Placing frozen dressing in room temperature water doesn’t do a good job of thawing it out before the other ingredients are done in the microwave. Bringing a container of lettuce with you to work and then having everyone wonder if you’re on a rabbit’s diet.

Purchased Price: $5.99 (on sale)
Size: 14.1 oz.
Purchased at: Safeway
Rating: 5 out of 10
Pros: Pleasant sweet and smoky sauce with a hint of lime. Nice crispy crust. Long list of toppings (white meat chicken, roasted corn, black beans, poblano peppers, fire-roasted red and yellow peppers, cilantro, mozzarella, parmesan, asiago, and romano cheeses, and a spicy chipotle lime sauce). Preservative-free crust.
Cons: Not spicy at all. It would make the Spicy Chipotle Chicken pizza available at California Pizza Kitchen restaurants cry because this frozen version is a poor representation of it. Nice long list of toppings didn’t translate into a pizza with a complex flavor. Not a lot of chicken. Had to manually move toppings to get an even distribution.

QUICK REVIEW: MorningStar Farms Baja Black Bean Pizza

MorningStar Farms Baja Black Bean Pizza

Purchased Price: $4.49
Size: 5.65 oz.
Purchased at: Safeway
Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: Very tasty, thanks to the slightly spicy Baja chile sauce which reminds me of a Taco Bell sauce (not the sauces in packets). Lots of fire-roasted corn, which added flavor, and black beans, which didn’t add flavor. Whole grain crust was mostly crispy, thanks to the crisping tray. Awesome source of fiber and good source of protein. Pizza was six inches in diameter, but was filling to me. 100% vegetarian.
Cons: Pricey. Corn and black beans not arranged to make a smiley face. Should’ve had more tomatoes. Waiting 16-17 minutes for a small pizza in a conventional oven (thank goodness for the crisping tray). Cheese didn’t have much flavor. I’m surprised it doesn’t have any of the fake meat MorningStar Farms produces.

QUICK REVIEW: Old El Paso Chicken Burritos Frozen Entree

Old El Paso Meal for Two Chicken Burritos

Purchased Price: $6.99 (on sale)
Size: 2 burritos/20 oz.
Purchased at: Safeway
Rating: 5 out of 10
Pros: Decent sized frozen burritos (6″ x 2.5″ x 1.5″). Lots of beans, rice, and corn. Salsa verde has a very mild kick and decent flavor. Each burrito is prepared in its own nifty steaming bag. Thank goodness for hot sauce.
Cons: Tastes like other frozen burritos I’ve had. Pricey for two decent-sized burritos. After microwaving, the tortilla on the bottom of the burrito is dried out and tough. Not a lot of chicken (I’m lucky a chunk ended up in the picture below). Didn’t notice any cheese. Most bites were beans and rice. Some Pace salsa would’ve made it taste better.

California Pizza Kitchen Limited Edition Greek Recipe Crispy Thin Crust Pizza

Purchased Price: $5.99 (on sale)
Size: 14.3 oz.
Purchased at: Safeway
Rating: 5 out of 10
Pros: Wonderful crispy crust. Preservative-free crust. Lots of veggies, especially olives and tomatoes. If you don’t eat meat, you may like this pizza. Decent source of vitamin A and calcium. Ready in 12 quick minutes.
Cons: ALL I CAN TASTE AND SMELL ARE OLIVES!!! (Okay, occasionally, I could taste parmesan, spinach, and a little bit of garlic.) Tomatoes give the pizza a juicy texture. Red onions were flavorless. Didn’t notice the tzatziki sauce. Some lamb might’ve been nice. A serving is a third of the pizza…who’s going to cut a pizza into an odd number of slices? I suck at fractions.
