QUICK REVIEW: Weight Watchers Smart Ones Classic Favorites Loaded Potato Soup

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Classic Favorites Loaded Potato Soup

Purchased Price: $2.49
Size: 8 oz.
Purchased at: Target
Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: Flavor is similar to a loaded potato with more emphasis on the chives, sour cream, and cheese. Lots of potatoes, chives, and turkey bacon. Surprisingly filling. 4 PointsPlus (I think that’s a good thing). No need for a can opener. When heated and eaten, it can warm the body during the cold months.
Cons: Some of the potatoes were still a little crunchy. Turkey bacon didn’t have much flavor. Not a thick soup. Not a better value than most canned soup. When not heated and not eaten, it can cool the body during the hot months.

QUICK REVIEW: Bertolli Al Dente Tortellini Margherita

Bertolli Al Dente Tortellini Margherita

Purchased Price: $3.79
Size: 10 oz.
Purchased at: Target
Rating: 5 out of 10
Pros: Marinara sauce has decent flavor. Lots of sauce. Good amount of filled tortellini. Good source of fiber, vitamin A, calcium, and vitamin C.
Cons: Chewy tortellini pasta is, perhaps, too al dente. With half of the tortellini I could taste the ricotta and asiago cheese filling, but with the other half, not so much. Marinara sauce isn’t very zesty. Mozzarella cheese sticks to fork like glue and came in clumps. The packaging recommends pairing it with a pinot noir, but I’m pretty sure that won’t fly in your workplace break room.

QUICK REVIEW: Market Pantry Chocolate Truffle Muffin Caps

Market Pantry Chocolate Truffle Muffin Caps

Purchased Price: $3.79
Size: 4 count
Purchased at: Target
Rating: 3 out of 10
Pros: They look good. You can stick them in the microwave or let them thaw at room temperature for 45 minutes. Contains live and active cultures. Only 100 calories. 5 grams of fiber per muffin cap.
Cons: Weird slightly bitter flavor. Looks more chocolatey than they really are. Melted chocolate chips have a grainy texture. They look like VitaTops, but don’t provide the same amount of vitamins and minerals. Odd chewy texture. Makes me want my money back. There are tastier ways to get fiber. Calling these muffin caps instead of muffin tops.

QUICK REVIEW: Jimmy Dean Delights Honey Wheat Flatbread Bacon, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich

Jimmy Dean Delights Honey Wheat Flatbread Bacon, Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich

Purchased Price: $5.99 (on sale)
Size: 4 sandwiches
Purchased at: Safeway
Rating: 6 out of 10
Pros: A decent, somewhat tasty way to start your morning. Just 230 calories. Made with real eggs, real cheese, and bacon. Cheesy was melty. Bacon, egg, and cheese in every bite. Good source of fiber. Flatbread had a nice, mild sweetness.
Cons: Jimmy Dean Delights is supposed to be a healthier option, but a sandwich has 5 grams of saturated fat which is 25% of your daily recommended intake. Egg was a bit dry. Most of the bacon’s flavor gets lost within the other ingredients. They look like they’ve been run over by a car. Flatness makes them look smaller than they really are. I wish this line was called Jimmy Dean Deanlights.

QUICK REVIEW: Limited Edition Pillsbury Caramel Apple Toaster Strudel

Limited Edition Pillsbury Caramel Apple Toaster Strudel

Purchased Price: $2.00 (on sale)
Size: 6 pastries
Purchased at: Safeway
Rating: 6 out of 10
Pros: Sweet caramel icing prevents this Toaster Strudel from headin’ on down to Blandville. Gooey filling and icing. Crispy, flaky, and slightly buttery exterior when toasted properly. Being able to sign your name on a Toaster Strudel with an icing packet.
Cons: Apple filing was light on flavor. Caramel icing has more flavor than the apple filling. Apple filling doesn’t have tiny bits of apple to add a bit more texture. Takes longer to prepare in the toaster than Pop-Tarts. Made with hydrogenated oil.
